If we beat the Wild, we are out of the lottery and our pick goes to NJ.
If we lose we are in the lottery, and the pick belongs to us?

So technically we haven't made the playoffs?

Does this sound correct?
I brought this up a while ago and predicted that if the Canucks were to be in this play in scenario and lost, they’d retain their pick from 2020. The Chef was too drunk to address my point and went off on some tangent regarding JT Miller. I got a similar response from the baked Brown Lizzy.

Are you seeking acknowledgement for your prescience in regards to the draft pick allocation?

I still want to see Vancouver kick the fuck out of the Wild. And then bootfuck whoever is next up after them. But if they happened to lose, maybe they get a little lotto luck and end up in the top 3. Even a pick in the 9-13 range in a draft like this should net a really good player. In that case you hope the team keeps improving (which they should much to the chagrin of the bed pissers at the poisonous Canucks site) and the 2021 pick is 18-32.

The Chef is probably just lit right now trying to figure out the new lotto system. Pounding on his dash and yelling at the radio.

I think we'll have everyone healthy no?
Ferland, Boeser et al.
That means Eriksson should be the 13th forward, Motte 14th, MacEwen 15th, Baertschi 16th.

Wonder which cities will be the hub's.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Eriksson should be about the 18th forward if everyone is healthy.

Ohh but you know Greener...loves himself some Loui for being a reliable defender and killing off teams last couple minutes of the 3rd.

If leivo is back I think the Louie days are done, he was showcased and no interested takers.

Yeah I showcased my 1975 AMC Hornet recently. It was riddled with rust, exhaust pipe dragging on the ground, catalytic converter had a gaping hole, the tires were bald, it smelled like a jiffy John inside, the transmission clunked like hell and the brakes both front and back were shot. I only wanted 10 K for it.

So it's a win-win-win all around. We either move into the 16 team playoffs which is fantastic or we draft high in a strong draft year which is also fantastic pluuuus...we have TJ Miller for years to come.

How can anyone see anything about any of this as anything other than winning at managing hockey assets

I'm not sure about that. Do we have the cap space? I think we're barely squeezing by cap wise.

He wouldn't be eligible to play in this years' potential play-ins/playoffs, if that what you mean.

We're talking about next season right?

It depends what the plans are.

What if Tanev + Stech are out and Tree and Raff are in?

What if Toffoli doesn't want to sign here?

What if the rumour... the one I've chosen to believe... about Loui is true (retiring).

What if Jimmy has some deals on the table to open some cap space?

(Loui/Sutter/Baer + sweetener type deals)

Maybe a team wants Benn/Roussel for a pick?

These are things only Jimmy knows, maybe we're totally fine cap-wise.

If we could sign Tree for something like $2.5M X 3 I'd be over the moon.

But then I believe in the big guy more than most.

EDIT: What if there are CBOs next season?
