Maybe we need a thread of "Which player from NHL history would have given messier the worst beating (describe in detail)"

One guy I might consider for the job is Rob Ray . He would never give up. That would be necessary to deal with a jerk guilty of such an unforgivable crime . You wouldn't have to use moves that would normally injure because nothing to hurt there anyways . Although, if you could get the trainer to sharpen up the blades before the match game, a few face stomps may be benificial to the outcome.
I'm not bitter though. Image No way.

There’s a back story there. Messier carved out a few teeth on Sutter with his stick at some point.

Messier also clubbed Thomas Gradin with a stick as well.
