Re: OOTS; 2019-2020
The more I watch those hits, while I’m sceptical if they are certain penalties, they are definitely borderline and definitely predatory. I’d be pissed if Petterson or Hughes got blown up like that. I can see why Kassian was incensed and I wonder if the officials let him get a few extra punches in because they knew they may have dropped the ball on the first hit.

It’s not the hit(s), I like the hit(s), it’s the fact those two have a history and that there was more than of the same hit in the same game. Tkachuk would have done a huge amount to his reputation, fixing it, by dropping the gloves and squaring off. The hits were more than just hits. You can’t walk that line and not back it up

Saturdays hit was clearly a charging penalty... He skated across the whole zone to deliver it.

Matthew knows he has to eventually answer the bell if he continues to play that way. And not just a lame non fighter, has to be a Kassian type, and no fucking Doyle style wresting matches, but a respectable bare knuckle square dance

Here's what ex-NHLers and hockey insiders think
Ex-referee Paul Stewart: Provocateur who turtles
From Mark Spector, Oilers homer
It's pretty unanimous that, unless you're a Flames homer, that most people in hockey don't respect what Tkachuk did during the game and his excuses afterward.

It hurts getting punched in the forehead. Don’t kid yourself. He took about 7 or 8 stiff jackhammers to his dome. When he went to bench he had a pretty good purple mark on his forehead. The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 2:13 pmGood reading right there. The kind of hits Tkachuk laid out on Kassian are the same kind of hits Tom Wilson does but at least Wilson backs it up

Im just borrowing it from you temporarily. You need it for every other post. I’m curious to see how many games Kassian gets. These teams play each again soon. I like seeing the anger in games again.

Wilson has had many dirtier hits than any Tkachuk delivered on Saturday.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 2:44 pm The kind of hits Tkachuk laid out on Kassian are the same kind of hits Tom Wilson does but at least Wilson backs it up
