Is rather not see it again, Game 7 be damned. And with Pettersson we won't.

Petey and Brockstar are finally starting to click again. They finding their confidence and hitting the net. BoHo was playing really well the last road trip, now it's the Petey + Brockstar show. Man, we used to go on the Cali road trip and get our lunch handed to us, now the Ducks and Sharks had better look out. Our guys could go in there and kick their candy asses for a change.

Things we'd rather not see again: Canucks in a game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals5thhorseman wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 10:36 pmIs rather not see it again, Game 7 be damned. And with Pettersson we won't.
Things we will probably not see again: A player throwing multiple gloved punches at another in the Stanley Cup Finals without drawing at least a 2 minute penalty
Things we will probably see again: A player taking multiple gloved punches in the Stanley Cup Finals to draw a penalty (Pettersson included)
Whether we liked it or not, all I'm saying is it's time to give Daniel Sedin a break. The guys on that team spent a lifetime to get that chance, they all would have taken punches to get to game 7 for one more chance to win the cup.

That was the way they got to the final; don’t hit back - punish them on the power play instead.
Then in the final the zebras swallowed their whistles.
If it weren’t for the change in how the refs called the games, the strategy would have worked.
But let’s not dwell on that.
Boeser, Horvat, Pettersson, Hughes...
Plus great goaltending.
The future looks bright!

.
Sportsnet; Just two big boys throwing big punches
Canucks Micheal Ferland and LA Kings Kyle Clifford had themselves quite the tilt.
https://twitter.com/Sportsnet/status/11 ... -injury%2F
I cant really tell what he injured. Looked fine skating away. There's a mark on his forehead but, meh, just a helmet mark I think?

Great games from Boeser and Pettersson, with the latter showing a rather nifty physical edge to his game now.
Really good showings from both Hughes and Miller as well. Said it before, Hughes is a phenomenal skater but as he learns
more about the NHL game, it looks better game by game. I don't think we have to worry about him wearing down, just don't see that happening.
When we're spending progressively more time on the offense it abates the hard time on our defense which has been a problem for years.
Be wonderful to see us simply apply this attitude to every team we play, f**k, why not. It's a mind set.
Anyways, this game was just the Kings and we should be able to beat a team like that.

Sorry bud, but every other player in the league would have fought back. Sometimes the message is worth more than the 2 minute PP.....and considering how piss poor our PP was against Boston that series it was irrelevant. You simply never roll over and play dead in front of a predator intent on killing you. I respect what Dank was trying to do. He got it wrong.Hank wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 11:39 pmThings we'd rather not see again: Canucks in a game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals5thhorseman wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 10:36 pmIs rather not see it again, Game 7 be damned. You're right though. It's 8 years ago. Move along.

Here's a little breakdown, and I have excluded offsetting penalties.Per wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2019 12:02 am That was the way they got to the final; don’t hit back - punish them on the power play instead.

Game 1: Canucks win 1-0 and were given 6 PP's.....they went 0/6.
Game 2: Canucks win 3-2 and were given 2 PP's.....they went 1/2.
Game 3: Canucks lose 8-1 and were given 4 PP's.....they went 0/4.
Game 4: Canucks lose 4-0 and were given 8 PP's.....they went 0/8.
Game 5: Canucks win 1-0 and were given 3 PP's.....they went 0/3.
Game 6: Canucks lose 5-2 and were given 6 PP's.....they went 0/6.
Game 7: Canucks lose 4-0 and were given 2 PP's.....they went 0/2.
1 for 31 on the PP in the Final.....a 3% success rate.
The Canucks did not lose for lack of PP chances. They lost because Boston pushed them around and designed their defense and PK specifically to disrupt the Sedin cycle.....and Vigneault and his staff never once tried to change the look.
After game 4 when your team is 1 for 20 on the man-advantage, and getting beat up in the corners you simply cannot keep throwing the same shit at the wall and hope it sticks. The Bruins blew us out of the water in each game that they piled up penalties on home ice, we let them feed off of their momentum building ground and pound and simply turtled.
You and Hank can sell it to yourself however you want though.
Re: GDT: Canucks @ Queens 30 Oct 2019 @ 19:30 PST on SN1
I don't think it's that simple, if you look at the time on PP there were two big trends - there were many times the refs called a penalty against the canucks while on the PP, and the vast majority of Canucks PPs came in the 3rd period of games that were out of reach in Boston when the all-out gooning had begun.
It probably wasn't enough to tip the scale on its own, but to me it looked like weak attempts at evening up the stat sheet to make it seem an evenly-called series.

Ultimately that series got dragged into the ditch. The Canucks weren’t equipped for that. The Bruins were set up for that. They were built like that.
