Last year was no different. Maybe Barrie can stay in toilet rather than try and come home as wellDoyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 6:16 pmIt’s early days yet.The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 6:15 pm We should thank fuck we didnt "win" the Karlsson sweepstakes. Re: OOTS; 2019-2020
Even in his prime, Karlsson couldn't defend. But he was so good in offensively it didn't matter.
When his offense dries up, as it will eventually, that contract is going to look terrible.

Re: OOTS; 2019-2020
I’d say he was an average sort of defender at best. But yeah you’re right he’s always been all about the offence.
I was hot and heavy to sign him and I still think there’s a lot there. That Sharks team likely has one more push in them but in two years that could be a garbage fire. Then again they’ve iced a competitive team for the last 15 years so who the fuck knows?
Maybe a bullet dodged

For the most part I was no fan of signing Karlsson, it’s looking worse than the Kevin Hayes signing

Re: OOTS; 2019-2020
Yeah the Avs seem great even without Barrie-yeah thanks to having Makar, but EK & Barrie aren't superb defensively. I wanted EK but Quinn Hughes says' 'nah bro we good!' Yup don't need Barrie and his probable $8M AAV ask anymore. The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 6:17 pmLast year was no different. The Canucks defense as a whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
It's a good mix of skill sets, size and experience. Edler the backbone, Myers the big brute mobile right side dman, Electric Hughes, Tanev the defensive machine, Benn his backup, Stecher has puck skills & is a righty.
With another puck mover quickly making his way in Juolevi, Tryamkin the crusher, Woo future Bieksa.
You can see the difference in the team's attack with Quinn Hughes type back there and his confident wise beyond his years puck skill ability, it makes everyone else play better, hell even Chris Tanev seems like a rejuvenated dman playing with Q.
The endless search for a QB - thanks to Q - is over thanks to drafting.

Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Maple leaves fall 5-2 to the Canadiens
Tyson Barrie turnovers lead to a few third period goals against.
