+1,let's see where we're at in 10 - 20 games
Seems to be how last season ended for him.

So can a team neutralize a player like EP so easily with scouting tape/positioning and/or blanket coverage?

Its one of the more interesting atory lines early this season along with how fan-fuckin-tastic Marky is playing. For me thats a giant relief
We had this conversation in the pre-season. Too soon to panic, but this is what I was worried about.

Would we have made such a hard turn towards a playoff push this year if EP hadn't looked so good? Would we have traded away a first?

If he isn't looking fantastic in 20 games, it's not going to matter what bottom 6 player should or shouldn't have made the team that was debated all summer.

Boeser is not finding lanes to unleash his shot. He will. His one on one battle game is very good. His defensive game looks better than I've ever seen it. Honestly, for a guy who basically missed camp, he's on track.

Pettersson's been doing pretty well, too. His shot is off; the chances are there, so is the puck control and possession game. He will have a 3 point game in the next three games and everyone will forget about a slow start.

Miller had a 4 point night because defence concentrated on Brock and Elias.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

It's almost like we're not used to having more than one line that can score... :/

#Canucks call up goalie Zane McIntyre from Utica.
Jacob Markstrom is attending a family matter.

You’re seriously still whining about this? The guy is a clean player who made a careless play and you threw a tantrum about it. And why would Tierney be dispatched to the minors? He’s a legit NHL player.

I would like to see that experiment for a couple games
Hear hear. Dump Leivo to the 4th line.

Another interesting experiment from Saturday was the shift after the PK, Hughes and Stecher matched up with the Petersson line. I'm not a Stecher fan, but I was impressed at his work keeping the play alive in the offensive zone.

The schedule makers must have thought that by giving the Canucks a rest at the beginning of the season was somehow helpful for a team with the worst travel schedule, just when they are well rested and healed from the off season
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

Jeff Paterson
a few new looks as #Canucks work Motte back into mix
9-40-6
79-53-70
17-20-18
59-83-64

Looks like Gaudette is gonna be a healthy scratch. I say that because these practice lines have pretty much always been what the next
game-card is.

I'd have Gaudette in before both Motte and Leivo. Schaller (Geen's go to guy) too actually.
Line three gonna get burned...

Motte stats; http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdis ... pid=145528 ... Pretty sure Gaudette out-does this given the chance...
