On the anniversary of the 2012 lockout.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

"While players have concerns with the current CBA, we agree with the league that working together to address those concerns is the preferred course of action instead of terminating the agreement following the season.

We have been having discussions with the league about an extension of the CBA and expect that those talks will continue."

And it sounds like an extension could happen as well! :thumbs:
Chris Johnston - Everyone should feel good about having 3 seasons of labour peace.

This wouldnt have happened if the PA didn't have productive talks with the league these last few weeks.

I believe an extension is close. I'm hearing through 2025.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Oh it's great, but when was the last time a CBA was negotiated without a strike/lockout?

It's been 20 years!

I think since that smug prick Bob Goodenow was ousted and militants like Chelios and others retired it hadn’t been as bad. I’m happy we don’t have to hear about this shit for a few more years,

Hear hear.

Maybe in a bit slow, but now I'm thinking the PA fucked around with the cap escalator (causing the late announcement of the cap for this year) to get some movement on escrow from the league.

@Account4hockey
Friedman says that even though the new US TV deal is 2 years out, the NHL and NHLPA are discussing plans to delay the significant cap increase an extra year (presumably to reduce escrow to a % players can live with). Says the cap could go up ~2M for 3 years and then a big jump.

Friedman said on SN960 that he thinks Evander Kane will get a 3 game, not a 10 game, suspension for his abuse of officals incident but he's not certain. Most of the other insiders also seem to think it'll be 3.
