This is a great gamble/great signing. Ignitowski is having himself a really good summer so far. Just curious to see the next move(s). I’d trade Baertschi long before Tanev with the playoffs looking like it’s a semi realistic goal. Sutter and Loui will need something added to either of them to move. They xxn bury Schaller but will need some more space.

There is an internet rumour of Gardiner coming here. Seems a bit sketchy but that would entail some salaries being flushed out.

Yeah, Baertschi, Sutter, and Eriksson, would all have to go to fit Gardiner in here and sign Boeser.

I like the Ferland signing as well. I guess JB remembers that Calgary series where Ferland just destroyed us and is hoping Ferland can replicate that for us. :P

Considering all the forwards we have now, especially LWers, I'm wondering if he really needed to go out and give up a 1st rounder for JT Miller? It's nice to get some forwards to help Petey + BoHo, but our D has been our achille's heel the past few years. If anything, JB should have moved that 1st rounder for a D-man. We are forward heavy right now, but our backend + goaltending still has some problems. Picking up Myers + Benn should help, but I think we could use another solid D-man there. As we all know, it's just a matter of time b4 one of our guys back there goes down (especially Tan-man).

With our surplus of forwards now, to get rid of Eriksson, I wonder if throwing in Baercheese and/or Golds would garner any interest? I really don't want to give up another pick or Jake.

Agree with y'all. Great signing.

I recall hearing the Canes were offering Ferk 5 x 5. Also, rumors that the Coyotes were willing to offer the same as the Canes.

Maybe his mom told him to take less to play in Van because she loved the twins :wink:

Me either, Todd;
This is exactly the kind of guy who can show Jake how to do what we all want him to on a regular basis.
Damn near a hand picked mentor for him right there.

Blob is proving that he is out of the urine crew, and can acknowledge good moves while still criticizing bad moves.

Meanwhile, MS is explaining why Brandon Tanev is a way better player than Ferland :lol: :lol:

Micky is particularly interested in just that.
Can you imagine the problem I am having typing his name?

Canucks finally got some beef up front.

Virtanen 226lbs
Miller 218lbs
Ferland 217lbs
Horvat 215lbs
Beagle 210lbs
Boeser 208lbs
Pearson 201lbs
Roussel 200lbs
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

PuckPedia

@PuckPedia

The Ferland 4 yr $3.5M Cap Hit with #Canucks breakdown:

Year 1: $2.5M Salary $2M Signing Bonus - No Movement Clause (NMC)
Year 2: $3M Salary- NMC
Year 3: $3.75M Salary - Modified No-Trade
Year 4: $2.75M Salary - Modified No-Trade
Because the clause becomes a No Trade in year 3, #Canucks can expose Ferland to Seattle in expansion draft (but he can't be traded).
