@KKurzNHL
Labanc will have arbitration rights next summer as an RFA (he didn’t this summer). He really is betting on himself as Wilson phrased it. He repeats last season or improves, a big multi-year contract is in his future. But for now, this is a deal that really gives DW flexibility

Nothing wrong here.
I still find it very strange. Labanc is underpaid by at least $2 mil, maybe $3 mil. There must be a wink and a handshake, we'll give you all of Thornton's and Marleau's money next year when he finally hangs them up.

A repeat of this year, and arbitration will likely give him $5+.
Even more cap circumvention here - but the league will choose to ignore it...

WRONG
Definitely nylanders is. Tavares as a top 10 centre ufa is paid probably about right
"as a UFA" in like UFAs get overpaid?

He had a career year last season, that's not going to continue.

His points-per-game average is less than a point-per.

He's the 3rd highest paid forward in the league, should be around 20th.

His contract takes him to age 34.

Is he $2.5M better than Stamkos, $4.7M better than MacKinnon?

No, of course not.

Tavares is ridiculously overpaid...

Not compared to Loui the air thief. Eriksson should be making the league minimum.

WIllie was on a <11-goal pace.

Loui got 11 goals, at a cheaper salary.

What a bargain!

Nylander didn’t have training camp or proper training for that matter and was coming off back to back 60 + point seasons. Eriksson takes more than two seasons to get 60 points. But please carry on....

Uhm...Panarin... UFA just signed for over 11 mill?

Comparable player with the edge to Johnny PJ

Erik Karlsson

Comparable talent for his position...over 11 mill

Come on Doc. I hate anything leaves too but PJ signed for precisely market value

Right, ship-jumping UFAs get overpaid, Tavares is overpaid...

Of course UFAs get overpaid. Its the nature of the beast. Premium assets hitting free agency dictate the market value. If the market says tavares panarin and karlsson command 11 as ufas...then theyre not overpaid now are they?

If they dont, like myers didnt, then its usually when they want to join a team...such as playing for their childhood team.

Herein lies another failure (in a long line of failures)of the laughs

PJs wanted to go home so damn bad but still bent them over the barrel and rammed dumbass as hard as he could...essentially screwing any future success the team might have with his crippling contract. Solidifying his all star status is the selfish team destroyer hall of shame

Yup and Tavares' high contract raised the bar for Matthews, Marner, and Nylander.

Every team has their salary structure right?

A year ago Marner's camp offered to sign for $8.5M x 8 years.

That equivalent to $5 - $5.5M x 5 years for a young player like Marner.

Watch as Dubas now has to pay double that... just as he did with Matthews.

Dumbass ruined the young team Lou the Lam was building.

There are reasons Lou offered Stamkos as little as he did the year before.

I'm loving how most Leaves fans are missing what's happening to their team.

Next year they'll have to give up one of Barrie/Muzzin (and Ceci)

... with no cap-room to replace them.

I doubt Tavares can repeat last year's career year numbers.

Yeah, Tuna & Co will be turning on Dubas/Shanny soon enough I guess.

(just like Canuck fans turned on Gillis, proving the Dude right all those years) 8-)

Somewhere right now...out by lynn valley...theres a mustard stained wife beater cladding a smirking skulleted eye-tie who is rocking back and forth on his porch giggling to himself about how right he was all along.

Sort of like Randy Quaid in Independence Day.

Or a guy built like John Candy up top with Olson twin legs, Tim Hunter’s nose and Robert Pickton’s haircut wearing spandex and a wife beater chanting “Gillis... Ballard...Booth... Astoria....Doc.... :look:

As long as we are drafting Virtanen 6th overall Blobbee Arby’s will forever be a Nylander/Ehlers Apologist
