Hearing that Mitch Marner's camp has explored signing an offer sheet with both Montreal and Tampa Bay.
If the leaves do not match, he would split time evenly between each city, playing 41 games in each location.

This Labanc contract in San Jose is weird - 17 goals, 39 assists, 56 points...
...and he signs for $1 million?

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Speaking of RFA Leaves without arbitration rights, Kapanen just got a 3-year $9.6M deal.
Over the last two seasons:
Lebanc... 159 games... 96 points.
Kapanen.. 116 games... 53 points.
Kapanen gets $9.6M and Lebanc gets $1M.
Super team-friendly deal for Lebanc, but still
... WTF is Dumbass doing in Toronto!
And Johnsson got even more than Kapanen with even less points/NHL games.
UFAs walk for nothing every year, Gardiner and Hainsey this year, Barrie next year.
Wet Fart Kerfoot gets $14M over 4 with a lot less points than Lebanc.
He overpays Tavares, Matthews, Nylander by $2M each
... and now all indications are he'll do the same with Marner.
All this for a group of players that can't win a playoff round.
Why are Leafers so slow to figure out it's disaster time again.
I see 2 or 3 of them (out of hundreds) on the leaves board screaming about this.
But of course they're drowned out by the mindless boiling frog hordes...

Labanc will have arbitration rights next summer as an RFA (he didn’t this summer). He really is betting on himself as Wilson phrased it. He repeats last season or improves, a big multi-year contract is in his future. But for now, this is a deal that really gives DW flexibility

Is Lebanc's contract full of bonuses?

When will Tuna learn, Doc. I wonder how much of the financial ruin that the Laffs are has to do with Blobbees good buddy - Capologist Extraordinaire - Lawrence the car salesman Gilman?

Tavares and Nylander’s cap hits aren’t out of line.

No, bonuses are only allowed on ELCs and 35+ contracts now.

I still find it very strange. Labanc is underpaid by at least $2 mil, maybe $3 mil. There must be a wink and a handshake, we'll give you all of Thornton's and Marleau's money next year when he finally hangs them up.micky107 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 11:28 pmNothing wrong here.Kevin Kurz

A repeat of this year, and arbitration will likely give him $5+.
