Nah , trying to give them up... they never seem hairy enough for me (now there's a visual that could induce a good spew the morning after tying one on).

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
Jimmy said he is looking at all possibilities, including moving up or down in the draft.
If the guy he hoped might fall to him at 10th is gone, his attention shifts that other guy(s).
If he feels that other guy (or one of the other guys?) should be available at say #15
... then he pulls the trigger on one of the deals on the table to drop back.
It's a tricky business this NHL Entry Draft, one flies by the seat of one's pants.

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
I get the sense that ole Jimbro is obsessing with the 12 to 30 tier and is jumping at the bits to trade back. This would not go over well with the home crowd. Just pick the best player available ffs. Don’t fucking water down quality for quantity (another 2nd round pick for moving back to 19th to draft Thomas Harley or something). Don’t over think it Jimbro

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
If you think of the last few years picking in the top 6, we've had teams above us make surprising, off-the-board picks. By the time you get to 10, there's likely going to have been 2-3 off the board picks, which means I expect there will be 2-3 "consensus top 10" picks still available at 10.
If a deal happens, it'll have to be on the draft floor, because I doubt anybody has a clear sense of who's going to be left on the board after #2. I hope if there's a move it's a trade down, because I could see mid-round picks going crazy if Their Guy is still available.

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
Every year in the lottery zone there are surprises. The top 10 after Hughes and Kakko is impossible to predict. Comes down to each teams needs and likes and whatever their lists are. Lists produced by Button, mock drafts are whatever. My curuousity is who will be reached for ahead of us (Caulfield and Broberg) and who will fall to us (Podkolzin, Dach, Cozens, Turcotte)
After Hughes and Kakko I only see Boldy, Byram and Zegras not being there when we pick at 10. The rest all have the potential to fall to 10.
Would not be surprised if a team desperate for goaltending like the Oilers reach for Knight, especially after seeing how important of a roll Binnington and Rask played in this year’s Stanley Cup

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
To be honest I’d rather see Benning move up from our 2nd round pick than move back with our first round pick. There are some intersting prospects expected to go late first early second round. How he does that, not sure, offer up the 3rd round pick?

Turcotte isn’t getting past 5.

Probably right
So after Zegras, Boldy, Byram and Turcotte. The rest could all be available depending on how it goes down ahead of us

Potential fallers in top 10
Podkozlin (Russian factor)
Dach
Cozens
Krebs (Achilles)
Potential risers into the top 10
Caulfield
Broberg
Knight
Seems to me of late that Broberg is separating himself from Soderstrom. I guess his size with the speed is killing it

Broberg was one of the players Benning looked into on his trip to Sweden.

There are some downsides which THIS new,(only 14 hours old, link tries to point out.
Keep in mind, it's all opinion, save what we can see for ourselves.

Its safe to say we will be adding a significant asset at 10 OA then.RoyalDude wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2019 11:01 am Potential fallers in top 10

This is where Benning shines. I am positive he picks a damn good prospect

Vasili Podkolzin---------------
Talent for sure, but it would come with risk and whoever selects him will have to WAIT two years for his services in North America...
