Strangelove wrote: Tue Jun 11, 2019 1:25 pm In our case we should only be concerned with the final year of Loui's contract.

So we can wait two more years or move him now with a 2-year "bad contract" coming back?

(Darling, Perry, Sekera, Phaneuf, etc)

Or attach a small asset (way smaller than what you suggest) and take no bad contract back.
Darling(canes) can't see LE waiving his NTC to go there.

Perry? thought you were hell bent on him not coming here, with his wonky knee.
Sekera is interesting, but I think the Oil will give him one more shot.

Phaneuf is good one, should look into that, but it seems like the Kings want to move out the old to bring in youth, however I can see the slower Kopitar being a good center for Eriksson, they could thrive together, he's the type LE played best with like Krejci and B Richards. *Get Blake on the line*
Why wouldn't Loui waive for Carolina? :eh:

I mention Perry because we would buy out him and his wonky knees.

(like cash-strapped Anaheim is talking about doing)

Okay forget about Sekera for now and keep in mind I'm not concerned about the cap until 2021...

Perry buyout costs $8M in real dollars and Loui costs $12M for 3 years (pre-July trade cuz buyout)

… so y’might say Ducks get Loui for $1.33M per season (real dollars).

So Loui for Perry plus a small sweetener?

Perry’s buyout cap hit for 2021-22 and 2022-23 (years I care about) would be $2M though.

Darling played pretty much the entire season in the AHL last year, he’s done.

He is owed $7.1M in real dollars over the last two years of his contract.

If we make the trade on July 2nd Loui will only be due $9M in real dollars.

So y’might say Canes get Loui for $600K per season (real dollars).

So Loui for Darling plus a nice sweetener?

Darling can get sent down leaving us a $3M cap hit for the next 2 seasons.

(ZERO cap hit for 2021-22 and 2022-23)

Phaneuf, on July 2nd, will still have $10M real dollars owed him by LA on his contract.

Loui of course will have $9M owed him.

A straight up deal?

This gives us a third pairing dman who is much more easily bought out that Loui (Sens pay 25% of that)

… and Phaneuf’s contract is done by 2021, rather than 2022 like Loui.

These are just some players that occurred to me, there may be other, better candidates.

Darling, Perry, Phaneuf...

...I would literally take any one of those three over 4 more years of Lucic.

I'll get back to ya'll on those Eriksson deals.

But man if Benning were smart he would deal Tanev for picks at the draft, idc what anyone says, that's what a smart team would do, from a rebuild to a contender moving Tanev with a full year on his contract for picks would be the smart move.

Can keep or use those picks for currency, as we likely get one pick this year and one pick next.

re-sign Schenn for el cheapo, seems he helps Hughes along so Q can do his thang and score, the new Methot-Karlsson duo.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Ya I'd be trading Tanev too. I also think after July 1st we can move Eriksson without retention. We may only get a 4-7 pick for 2020 but the point is to have him gone and his cap gone. I don't get the desire to swap his bad contract for another.

I'd also see about moving the rights to Edler if we cant get him signed. He may not waive so it may be moot but I'd see about it. Again we'd be lucky to get a 5th but it's something.

Elliotte Friedman thinks Jesse Puljujarvi could be a piece coming back to VAN if a Lucic for Eriksson trade were to happen.

And here is the twitter piece. It has sound, (turn it up a bit and the pizazz comes right at the end. Image

Yay, the slowest person in hockey and the lowest IQ in hockey. Exciting. Keep Eriksson

I think they fucked up Louis’s stats. They said he had three hits. I defy anyone to provide video evidence of these three hits. I’m more inclined to believe he had 0 hits.

What a useless piece of shit. People ragged on Mark Messier when he played here. This cunt couldn’t carry Messier’s jock strap.

Well, I'm no expert but it sure looks like he's had some hits.

Oh are we writing off other teams 20 year olds again while giving our own double the development time before holding them to the same standard?

I would actually do this trade, depending on what we would have to add. I assume we would be adding a mid round to 2nd round pick. If it is a 2nd rounder or higher I would not do that.

Eriksson "helps teams win" much more than Lucic.
Sure...too bad those teams arent based in vancouver
No shit. The guy has been an unmitigated disaster here.

His play is uglier than Rocky Dennis flipping out on shrooms wearing a prom dress
