“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

Has this been one of the most incredible first rounds in playoff history or what?
I was thinking the same. There is no advantage for winning a division it seems. Any team can gel and play as a unit to defeat a star laden lineup.
Just sneak in and catch fire.
Next year, we are there. This years playoffs makes what Canuck fans have been saying for a few years, sound rather foolish.

What a fucking stupid thing to say. (in retrospect).
That’s 4 first round exits in a row for ole Lawrence Gilman “such a wonderful man” - Matt Sekeres
Last two playoffs with Gillis
One with Benning
And this one with Gilman

8 year old Dude waiting outside the pacific coliseum...
Sees his favorite player coming out after the game...
Hi Mr. Gillis, can I have an autograph?
Mike Gillis=
Fuck off nerd!
That young Dude sits on the curb sobbing, clears his eyes and swears a blood oath vendetta to rain down with a slanderous agenda in the distant future using a sensed but not understood media vessel not yet created....including known associates...
All collected and with a new found focus he mutters to himself... I'll get you Mike Gillis....you and your future assistants will pay dearly for this

The teams pulling these upsets are a FUCK of a lot better than Vancouver.
22 and 36 after 60 minutes. They padded their point totals big time in 3 on 3 and the shootout and still missed the playoffs by ten points. Not to mention it was a historically low point total to get in and they were never really close.

Well that and there was the time Gillis saw the Dude at the gym. Dude was sweating like a Cub Scout at Neverland Ranch all over the leg press machine and struggling to push 100 lbs with his razor thin chicken thighs. His massive Chris Farley like torso was sweating out beer and hamburger grease and was absolutely soaked and he smelled like an old meth hag. Gillis was patiently waiting for the machine when Dude finally got off he said to him that he’d seen better legs sticking out of a bucket of KFC. Dude has vowed revenge ever since.

Does that mean the wildcard 8th seed teams who beat the 1st seed divisional winners didn’t deserve to be in the playoffs due to the historical low point total?

It means it will take another 5 or 6 points to make it next year.
That puts Vancouver 15 or 16 points out and if they don’t kill it in gimmick time maybe 20 points out.
22 wins after 60 minutes

But if the wildcard 8th seed team who beat the best teams in the league who scraped into the playoffs on historical low point totals what does that say about the divisional winners who bowed out in the first round beaten by teams who made it in the playoffs ahead of teams with historical low point totals? Shouldn’t have it been a cakewalk for the divisional winners in the first round?
