It just makes sense to pair him with Schenn. Yin and Yang.

Early impressions are he can really pass the puck. Every pass is snapped faster than most canucks are used to.

Yeah he not only passes it to his intended target with some pace, he actually does it quickly.

He's definitely worth the hype, came as advertised wow! Hughes plays like every play has a chance to setup a goal or score a goal.
Schenn is his bodyguard frfr.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Benning does it again, Hughes will be the best player of his draft year. Two years in a row.

And then Quinn skates circles around him and sets petey up with a no look backhand pass, that he’ll be ready for this time.

That move to pass to himself off the back of the net will get old real quick. He won't be able to rely upon that as his bread and butter before he gets knocked down a few times. Don't get me wrong, it is a thing of beauty just saying this is the NHL and opposition will get a book on him and adjust. He needs to have more moves than that.

His strengths will be his passing and his ability to walk the line and control the boards. The trick plays will be sporadic not a regular thing. He is not known for his shot or goal scoring but for his set ups. Tonight we got a glimpse of how effective he can be. As his teammates get used to how he plays they'll work at getting open and being in position to get the pass.

I liked how he said after the game he had fun because everyone in the NHL is smart and are good players. A little knock on where he came from? without intending to of course.

He is going to be fun to watch. Loved the OT.

He sure tries to be low key. See the shots of his parents in the crowd? Hereditary? ;)

This is where the hockey gawds did us a favour. Benning got the guys he wanted. I mean if he had back to back 1OA he still would have taken Pettersson but probably Dahlen instead of Hughes.

Not so fast trigger. Let’s just sit back and see how this one plays out.

Island Nucklehead, your thoughts?
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

I’m fairly certain most of the posters in this thread haven’t seen Rasmus Dahlin play a shift of hockey
