They really need to change the rulebook on plays like that. Smith deliberately cut off Edler's angle and he had no where to go. Contact was unavoidable at that point.

Did Edler deserve a penalty? Yes. Should Smith be called for diving? Absolutely. It was fucking embarrassing.

Yes it does and that's the encouragement to take from this season. We still have a ways to go in this rebuild but its looking more promising. One of the biggest surprises this year is the emergence of Markstrom as a true number one. That alone make the next few years promising. Now if we can get rid of some if not all of our wounded soldiers and a piece or two of dead meat we will be looking even better.
