They have bike only roads and bridges there. Lots of greeny types make their way up there to buy huskies and drive ancient toyota pickups

Whitehorse is great. Easily the best of the Territorial capitals. They get worse as you head East.

I lived there 10 years ago and loved it. The only reason i left was they wouldnt give my wife health care during her application for residency.
I havent been to yellowknife but dont want to go either.
I worked in old crow yukon for a bit when i was up there. Talk about the middle of nowhere

BC Med had a two month waiting period when my wife arrived as a Canadian resident. Bought two months of health insurance for her.

Yeah you're eligible two months after you submit your sponsorship application or arrive in the country. Even then BC Med turned us down so I had to argue with them. Ended up claiming expenses after they backdated my wife's start date.
Re: CC Random thread
Same here but it was interesting that my wife was covered by my works insurance the moment we were married, so she had extended but not medical. This was only a month or 2 so not a worry and work paid for it.

We went the "in-country" spousal sponsorship route which took 2 fuckin years. Pisses me off that we jumped through all the security and sponsorship hoops the cons had in place (rightly so) just to watch the fuckin liberals streamline all the security crap after we were done.
I should've just waited and put a tea towel over her head.

Re: CC Random thread
We moved back so I could attend Culinary school. Canadian representative office in Belize recommended a tourist visa for my wife and then renew it as we extend our stay. Canadian Consulate in Guatemala got the documents to process, and said no. I got a phone call from a fellow there telling me to go the Permanent Resident route. He said it was a straight forward and designed for expats who were married over seas and returning to Canada, shouldn't be a problem. Filled out the sponsorship forms, sent a Canadian $ money order, roughly $1,500 bucks, from my Bank of Nova Scotia branch in Belize and sent it to an office in Mississauga.
Six weeks later it all was sent back with a note "You did not specify the address of the Canadian banking institution where the money order could be cashed." I took the money order over to my bank and spoke with the manager. The bank had clearly printed on the money order "Payable at Any Branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia". He refused to issue another money order and instead looked up the address of a Bank of Nova Scotia somewhere in Mississauga and he wrote a letter informing the pinheads processing my sponsorship what was printed on the money order and a suggestion the the address for the branch he listed, with contact info, may be near then and to call the manager of that branch if they had difficulty locating it.
Because of my earlier phone call from the Canadian Consulate in Guatemala, I had contact info there, called the guy back and he was very helpful getting my wife's Permanent Residency in the works (medical, criminal record check, photos...) while waiting for my sponsorship approval. We were able to send it all to him while waiting for the sponsorship approval.
I had to come to Canada for school and it was 4 months later that the sponsorship was approved and I received notification. I was able to email the case # to the fellow in the Canadian Consulate in Guatemala and less than a week later my wife received her Permanent Residency. Two weeks later she flew to Vancouver.
I'd like to think that the folks in Mississauga were having a bad day and are not complete fucking idiots, but I have my doubts.
By the time she got her citizenship, we'd moved to the interior and the ceremony was at an elementary school in Castlegar. That was very cool. The school did a great job of integrating the students into the ceremony. The walls were covered in poster displays represent all the countries the new citizens were from. School choir sang in Russian. It was very well done.

Holy fuck is dawson creek BCs biggest shithole or is there a worse dive than this? Northeast BC has turned into any shithole oil town in Alberta but shit costs 7% more
I think I'm in the exact same motel as the one he hid the suitcase in the ceiling from No Country for Old Men. I wonder why the lock cylinder is buried in the drywall like that...

Presumably we should all prepare to die horrible deaths, starting a few years from now.
74% of Democrats think she would make a fine American President.
Thoughts?
Good gawd, now pinko-loving MSN is turning on AOC!
She chases Amazon ($30Billion + 25,000 jobs) out of NY and says that was a good thing for the people she represents!
She actually thought NY could then spend the $3Billion in tax breaks Amazon would have received, hey free wallet!
CUSTOMER: I want to buy 20 pizzas, I have a coupon from you for $20.
AOC: No! You have to pay full price!!
CUSTOMER: Okay, I'll take my business elsewhere.
AOC: Hey boss! I saved you $20!
Yeah, this is why socialism doesn't work...
