And if Canucks eventually trade Sutter for that exact same player after getting a few years of use out of him?
Then Benning did very well to trade for a player who is presumably younger than Sutter and with more upside. JB hasn't made many trades like that, so far. It would be reassuring to see he's getting the knack.

I'm the "try to focus on X-number of years from now" guy remember?
And we're now X=0, correct ? Playoffs in 2019, and looking good doing it ?

Again Doc. How many positions did they give up in that swap of picks?
Why bother rehashing this again and again?
Because people (yourself included) keep repeating the myth that a pick was "pissed away" in the Sutter trade.
So rather than a pick, would you say that a "young developing player" was pissed away? Wasn't Clendening's potential "greater than any extra picks we could have had"?

Playoffs in 2019 or 2020, try to keep up. (I mean, the guy's been saying it for 3 years now...)
RG is up. We are now in 0-1 territory which means it should have happened or will happen in the upcoming year in accordance with Strange’s prediction. Unless of course the numbers are changing....
Invincibility lies in oneself.
Vincibility lies in the enemy.
If playoff contention means they will finish out of it but with a clear improvement in the standings... with the drivers of the team being the young guys like Bo/Brock/EP (and hopefully Hughes) being backed up by the (expensive) vets... then I'd say the season is a success.
But if they aren't fighting for a wildcard at least in 2019-2020, then yeah, it's a problem.

My take from his post spending bonanza interview is they are trying reduce the injuries to key skilled players by loading up the roster with shock absorbers basically.
The Beagle signing was damn good in my books. He is far more than a plug. The other 2 i can take or leave but neither present much of an issue for the foreseeable future.
Agreed. Whatever your smoking, can you send Blob a quarter?

Blob is 100% dangler. It’s a bit nauseating that I’m being painted as the problem here. The zealots will have you believe that every non believer is a sinner. Blobs problem was engaging species of a lower iq
