Hockey Widow wrote:You have to think, as a little birdie told me, there was an off ice incident. Minor, nothing to get excited about but enough for Green to get upset with a young guy like Virtanen. Really all I am hearing is a night on the road, a little too much alcohol, a little late back to the hotel and to bed, and got caught. Didn't miss practice or wasn't late for anything. Just a little late night. Perhaps a reminder of the take it for granted attitude Green tried to beat out of Jake in Utica?

I think with the attitude he and McCann had their rookie year the Canucks don't want to take any chances. Other than that people are mystified about what Jake did or did not do to earn the wrath of Green and Green is upset with him. I heard the talk about a week and a half ago that he was one foot in Utica.
Was just talking about this with the old man today when we heard he was sitting again. Neither of us quite understood why and then I added, unless of course something happened off-ice, perhaps a repeat of his supposed rookie season shenanigans. So not surprised to hear this...it definitely has the same feel as the phantom Kassian "injuries" and absences...although I suspect not quite as severe. Also Green actually alluded to lessons not being learned today while word was completely mum with Kassian situation.

It's just nice have a player again who gives us hope when he's got the puck. Best Canucks shot since Naslund?

At least he put it into the net.
Well, you can also say the Knights scored two goals because Edler was just standing there doing nothing too.
Reef is filling in for Blob.

Blob bought tickets online for this game, then flew straight to Vegas

... OOPS

Reef has his pants pulled up to his neck and yelling at clouds tonight...

Cuddle-Blob will be back soon enough. I expect some 3-way smokINg happening in the near future.

Oh yeah, Bo Knows.

Ya Rocky, not hearing it's anything near as bad as Kassian. That is not substance abuse, just a late night. it may have been just after a loss too. When you have players like the twins who have always presented as professional on and off the ice I guess the team doesn't cotton to a youngster on the bubble who has a little too much.

But I don't have all the nitty gritty details only that it was a very minor incident that did not involve breaking any team rules. I think Green is sending a message. And it didn't help that it happened when both Eriksson and Gaunce were ready to return either. Made it easy for Green.

Keep in mind that the twins were two who called McCann and Virtanen out in their rookie year so maybe they weren't pleased. Who knows.

Vanek's points generated per 60 must be off the frickin' charts.

Plays 10 minutes, does nothing for 9 minutes, still gets his points. All in a meh's work.

Green should just swap Edler with Pouliot on the first unit powerplay. Edler just would not pass the puck to Boeser...

Exactly what I was thinking. Just load up on the first unit.

Edler is totally in dreamland tonight. A big F on the eye test.
