Seriously Vanek, tonight he was noticeable for the wrong reason.

Vanek should not be allowed to pass on the powerplay

Well that sucks. We played another great game. But we've lost that scoring touch. Cory was great this game, like Bishop the last game. Can't complain about the effort though. Fun to watch but without a result.

My take is the defense isn't enough of a threat. They need someone back there with a cannon and/or the ability to get quick shots on net through the traffic. How many passes to open d-men were there to have dribblers blocked or passes deflected?

Pretty dramatic change from last year and it surely is coaching. Fuckin twitcher I knew that clipboard clutching was for lack of confidence

Gotta admit a part of me... may... have been cheering for my pool team. :look:

(bonus points for shutout)

But hey let's blame the schedulers for sending the devils to town at Halloween!

Great night for Corsi scores.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

This is where having one of Crosby/Malkin/Kessel would be nice, just a game breaking finisher to break a goalie's confidence - in time Boeser could be like Kessel, but that will come in time plus I don't think he's 100% yet.

But at least we peppered Schnieds with a shitload of shots.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Not that it helps us but Boeser cost the Devils by simply moving out of the way of a Johansson hit.
Keeps his eyes open like that and he'll be a good one.

More and more I see the road team out scouting the home team.

Watching highlights from games these days and "now", if you take the initiative to skate down a rushing player, get in front of him and get in his face, it's a penalty. BS.

No wonder there are so many high-light reel goals. But is it better hockey?

The shot was deflected by Tanev's back or butt. No way it was a softy.

Good game but bad result ! Scneider was great or maybe even though we outshot them Markstrom just had bad luck on the goal. Still it was a fun game to watch. Young guns looking good and the D is better than I expected even without Edler. PP not effective. .

Whole hearted agreement on the coaching changes this year. Such breath of fresh air. Makes me smile when looking over at the coil and smelling a coaching change coming on over there.

No, that shot was not deflected. You can say Tanev should have either blocked it or let Markstrom see it instead of being in no man's land and ending up being a screen.

This is a serious flaw that Markstrom still has not address: pucks going under his arms or glove. We've already seen countless softies just this season alone. He needs to calm down and move less.

Hey, it's easy to sit here and dissect but he is a professional goalie and that was a one-time slapper off the half-boards which he had plenty of time to track and be set for. But it went between his arm... once again.
