Gary Agnew will join Utica as an associate coach, joining head coach Trent Cull’s staff.
Agnew was an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2015-16 and was the head coach of the Syracuse Crunch for six years.
New players.
The club has signed defenseman Jaime Sifers to a two-year American Hockey League contract.
Sifers, 34, has spent the last three season with the Columbus Blue Jackets’ AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters, posting a total of 61 points (14-47-61) and 242 penalty minutes in 217 games.
In those three seasons, the Stratford, Connecticut-native served as the alternate captain and was a member of the 2016 Calder Cup champion team. The defenseman led the team with a plus-18 in the 2015-16 championship season.
Trent Gull will really be put to the test early.

Utica, NY – Utica Comets General Manager Ryan Johnson announced today the team’s training camp roster which comprises of 15 forwards, nine defensemen and two goaltenders.
Of note Boucher and Jonathen Dahlen!...with fellow Swede Rodin soon too I bet & possibly Virtanen if all the Canucks vets stay healthy from here onto early October.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Temporarily at least. Linden has said they will send him to Utica for conditioning then bring him back up. Will decide then what the roster looks like. Barring injuries be prepared to see Boeser sent to Utica.

Looks that way. He's better off in Utica working on his skating and playing minutes than practicing up here and riding the pine.
