Muzac For Munsters

Re: Muzac For Munsters
I queued-up my entire Hip collection on the server this past week: essentially their entire catalogue minus the first album, and the last two. It has been a good listen. I'd forgotten about lots of tunes that I really like. I admire the Hip for finding an initial style but not rehashing it album after album. They continued to develop which meant they lost some fans along the way but probably gained some new ones, too. Music is always polarizing - probably even more so than politics. It doesn't surprise me that not everyone liked them, but they worked for me.

The middle period I liked
Road Apples,'Fully Completely, Day For Night, Troubke at the Hen House, Phantom
But I stopped listening to them after that although I still turned them up if any songs from that time came on the radio
Fave songs
Courage
Poets
Little Bones
Grace, too

Also Bobcaygeon, Wheat Kings, 50 Misson Cap, So Hard Done By, Blow at High Dough, Fireworks. I loved the Hip from the late 80s to the early 2000s. They haven't really done anything I've liked in the last ten years. Gordie is a proud Canadian.

Yes enjoying the new Son Volt. A blues album by Farrar
The new Jason Isbell is a step back, average
Love the new Justin Townes Earle
Love the Bonnie Prince Billy covers album of Merle Haggard songs
The new Fleet Foxes is decenf
Top 3 albums of 2017 - Will Johnson, Father John Misty, Slowdive
Like the new Aimee Mann
Best chick albums of the year - Laura Marling, Julie Byrne, Hurray the Riff Raff
New Real Estate is decent
Can't believe I'm enjoying the new Mac Demarco
Looking forward to the new National, Iron and Wine

Took in the Tom Petty show last night. It was a great show and well worth the 100$ per ticket I shelled out. Now the 9$ beers are a bit pricey, but it was a tight show. The old guy can still bring it.
