Ya, Franson has a bruised knee and is day to day. Not expected to miss regular season.
Clarkson does not require surgery and is expected to play in the season opener, with a cage I suspect.

Does poster Mathonwy blame Torts for these two injuries?Hockey Widow wrote: David Booth out minimum 4 weeks. Broke his foot blocking a shot.
Kesler left game after blocking a shot, did not return but it was late in the game. No word if he has an injury but was seen hobbled over the bench.

Poor Boothy, can't seem to catch a break playing in Canada. If he doesn't show something this year, his NHL career is probably over. He is the Job of hockey.Hockey Widow wrote:David Booth out minimum 4 weeks. Broke his foot blocking a shot.
Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Booth needs to go play down south like in Arizona where there isn't much care for hockey...
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Yeah, it wouldn't hurt.SKYO wrote:Booth needs to go play down south like in Arizona where there isn't much care for hockey...
Wow, we still made top 5 in attendance even in that crap season last year? I'm a bit surprised, we sure luv our Nucks hockey win or lose.

Fixed. Those tickets are mostly sold before the season starts. Watching games on TV towards the end of last season, seeing all the empty seats, and having the Canucks tout the "sell-out streak" was embarassing (on the ice and in the stands).Todd Bersnoozi wrote: Wow, we still made top 5 in attendance even in that crap season last year? At least the 2009 draft was pretty shallow all around. It's not like Anze Kopitar was selected right after him.Mondi wrote:Another Canuck first rounder, out of the league in his early 20s.
He was pretty useless as a Canuck, and now is a wavier-wire pick-up at best. Too bad.
Holy crap 2007-2010 was a bad string of drafts for Vancouver though. Hodgson was the Nucks best pick in those 4 years, and one of only four players who have played a single game in the NHL. Yikes.

Schroeder played 56 NHL games for the Canucks.BurningBeard wrote:At least the 2009 draft was pretty shallow all around. It's not like Anze Kopitar was selected right after him.Mondi wrote:Another Canuck first rounder, out of the league in his early 20s.

Right. In four draft years they've had four players graduate and play for them. Hodgson, Schroeder, Connauton, Sauve. Schroeder was a success compared to the others. Pretty tragic.Jovocop wrote:Schroeder played 56 NHL games for the Canucks.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Shall we compare our 2007-2010 record with LA and then cry for a while?
2007
Wayne Simmonds
Alec Martinez
Dwight King
2008
Drew Doughty
Vyacheslav Voynov
Andrei Loktionov
2009
Brayden Schenn
Kyle Clifford
Jordan Nolan
2010
Tyler Toffoli
Andy Andreoff (I've heard he may make the team)
If only the Canucks could draft half as well.

Why would we want to do that?Benjo wrote:Shall we compare our 2007-2010 record with LA and then cry for a while?
