He apparently did a lot to decrease illiteracy and the wealth gap. Developed the country, supplied oil to the poor, blah blah. He's pals with Iran, that's enough for me to dislike him.
Not to mention the mainstream US media told me he's a baddie so I don't ask any questions... I just wave my stars and stripes, rewind the Superbowl halftime show and contemplate the next episode of the Bachelor.

He bankrupted the country selling subsidized oil both domestically and to neighbouring "friends" (Belize still buys subsidized fuel from Venezuela - full payment due at a later date...). Their currency recently had to be devalued but it did nothing to ease the shortages of basic food items.
