Another one bites the dust

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Had to look that up - holy fuck! Worst trade in Hockey? :D (20/20 hindsight, of course) - Lafleur (and cash) for Oddleifson (Oddleifson never played for the Seals - traded for Ivan Boldirev)!

Then a quick look at the 1971 draft shows Canuck luck at its best. :D What a dropoff

#1 Montreal Guy Lafleur 1353 points
#2 Detroit Marcel Dionne 1771 points
#3 Vancouver Jocelyn Guevremont 307 (yes, he's a Dman, but still...)

Gallivan's energy was great, and he created words and phrases for us!

Such as "Savardian spinnerama" :D

I'm pretty sure he's the one who got us all adding "ian" to names.

Interesting thing about that '72 draft - all but one player drafted by the Canucks suited up for them.

3 1 Don Lever F 990 games
19 2 Bryan McSheffrey F 90 games
35 3 Paul Raymer F ---------------
4 Ron Homenuke F 1 game
5 Larry Bolonchuk D 74 games
6 Dave McLelland G 2 games
8 Dennis McCord D 3 games
9 Steve Stone R 2 games

I still remember Jocelyn Guevremont breaking Potvin's helmet with a slap shot.

Yeah...Terry was perhaps more famous in the end.

Seasons in the Sun, If You Go Away and all that.

But she could sing.

Where Evil Grows would be another famous Poppy song.

The very first famous group I ever saw, back when I was still in high school. It was quite a thrill at the time.

They were one of the first 'Vancouver' based bands to make some noise on the charts.

And these were our friends' cattle on the cover.
