Another one bites the dust

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

I heard over the years that Scolari hated Hanks for his success. He had a good gig as a Newhart sidekick, but dorky Hanks got plumb movie roles and eventually fame, fortune and awards.

Don't know how true those rumours were though.

The two actors remained good friends in real life, with Scolari saying in an interview for Oprah Winfrey that Hanks toasted him at his wedding.

"I cannot get my mind around what I've done in my life to deserve this kind of affection," Scolari said of his toast.

No kidding eh?

Great band, but what a shitshow.

Instead of reconciling for a tour with Buckingham, they bring in Neil Finn who was completely wrong for the gig. Don't get me wrong, I love Neil Finn and Crowded House, always been one of my favorite songwriters and pop groups.

I'm glad we CCers aren't so dysfunctional, right?

EDIT: Well, it doesn't prove he wasn't secretly jealous. Maybe he didn't "hate" Hanks, but actors got egos, amirite?! Anyway, I'm just pointing out what I heard over the years... like Fleetwood Mac's Rumors.

Mac is one of the few bands on my life list I never saw.

Had tickets twice.

They canceled once when Nick's got all coked up in Seattle and was "to sick" to travel.

Second time Buckingham had Bronchitis and they canceled last minute.

Anything after Bare Trees, I can't listen to.

Fucking hated the Buckingham/Nicks years.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Sad day, indeed. There's a restaurant I frequent whenever I'm in DC that makes an incredible one.

Cin Cin made a decent Tiramisu once upon a time.

I made one myself once. It said it had to sit for at least 5 hours before serving.
I let it sit 5 hours, and then we had it as dessert after dinner. It was OK, but I had definitely had better.
Roughly half of it went back into the fridge.

Then I happened upon it the next day, and thought, OK, I might have a sliver.
And god-damned! Shit! Now it was amazing.

So that's when I learnt that "at least 5 hours" should be interpreted as probably more than 24 hours.
