MLB playoffs

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

The more I think about it, the more improbable it seems. The guy never really played baseball as a kid, only glorified softball in some beer leagues. Then basically learns the game from scratch in the minors and becomes a big leaguer and HOFer.

That's crazy :crazy:

Morneau had some great years, but after those concussions, he just wasn't the same player.
My dad and Sr went back quite a ways. Jr was a hockey goalie and played a bit of baseball growing up and then for his dad’s Fastpitch team as a shortstop when he was 16 with his dad and three brothers. He never took baseball seriously until he played for the Reds as a 17 year old. He started mashing almost immediately... Raw as hell but strong as an ox and could run like a deer.

Not playoffs but;

Blue Jays denied government approval to play home games in Toronto

The Blue Jays home opener is scheduled for July 29 against the Washington Nationals, meaning the team now has 11 days to solidify a location for home games. Other options under consideration are TD Ballpark in Dunedin or Buffalo’s Sahlen Field, home of the triple-A Bisons.

W/E--Can't believe they even tried. They're the only team in Kanata. lol-only in TO :hmmm:

Turner is such a douchebag. Hopefully he gets ear holed a few times next season. I didn’t like him before, I can’t stand him now. His wife however is a smoke show. Clearly in it for the money, doesn’t give a good fuck about looks or hygiene. 8-)

Hey, Vincenzo. You gonna be happy if Alex A. and his Braves pull this off?

lol I wish I had tuned in for that.

That Hollywood Indian music and tomahawk crowd thing has always bugged me no end. I remember Ted Turner and Jane Fonda doing it seemingly completely unselfconsciously up in the owner's box.

Well that's just it Don. The blind spots some of these Hollywood progressives exhibit is really peculiar. And Ted is certainly a member of the neolib media elite himself with all that that entails.

I’d like to see it. I’m a big Freddie Freeman guy. Still a bit sour at the Astros antics of a few years ago. AA did a solid job in Toronto and he’s doing a solid job in Atlanta. I still can’t believe the Braves only won one WS with Smoltz, Glavine, Maddux and Jones. Ridiculous!

Hope Alex Anthopolous wins it and Jays fans go into meltdown.
I don’t think the Jays fans have some axe to grind with Anthopolous. He got shoved out by Shapiro. I’m no huge Jays fan but I sure like a lot of their players right now. A lot more likeable than the 92 and 93 teams.
