Theyre making a comeback! Soon to be seen once again on the runways of Surrey, Delta and Maple Ridge
Any Makinaws?

There’s a throwback dude who works at Dicks Lumber who is a Makinaw aficionado, loves to talk about his, the authenticity of his, where you can still buy them. As he talks to Chef about his Makinaw love ole Chef is thinking quietly “Dude, come to today land now. They didn’t stop making coats in 1978.“ I’m certain he had a Dodge Charger parked in the yard

Greatest mafioso bosses of all time

1. Lucky Luciano - Took over the Maranzano Crime Family, after having Maranzano killed. The Luciano family is now today the Genovese Family

2. Carlos Gambino - The Gambino Crime Family, originally called the Mangano crime family. Gotti ran the Gambino Crime Family for awhile

3. Tony Accardo - Chicago Outfit. The Outfit was started by Johnny Torrio and Al Capone

4. Vincent “the Chin” Gigante - The Genovese Crime Family

5. Al Capone - The Chicago Outfit

6. Vito Genovese - The Genovese Crime Family

7. Frank Costello - Luciano Crime Family, after Lucky

8. Joe Bonano - Bonano Crime Family, originating out of the Maranzano Crime Family. Apparently the Book the Godfather and Don Corleone was based on Joe Bonano

Bugsy Siegel is number 1, then the rest of the DAGOS. Maybe spot Meyer Lansky into the 2 hole.

.

Siegel and Bugsey were never really mob bosses when older. They had a street gang together when younger and had run ins with Luciano. Seigel and Lansky formed the famous Murder Inc. Seigel was more known to be a hitman and essentially took orders from Luciano and Lansky later on. It was Lansky and Luciano who had Seigel killed later on while Seigel was in Nevada building the Flamingo.

When Luciano was a young soldier for the Maranzano Crime Family he masterminded the infamous take over the Masseria Crime Family by killing Masseria, I believe it was Seigel and Vito Genovese and Carlo Gambino who shot Masseria. Maranzano then gave Masserias rackets to Luciano which evolved into the Luciano Crime Family then the now Genovese Crime Family. Luciano, Lansky and Seigel then masterminded the hit on Maranzano. Luciano then formed the 5 families of New York after taking out Maranzano. This was also well documented in Boardwalk Empire

Long and short of it, Seigel and Lansky answered to Lucky

Seigel and Al Capone were boyhood friends. Luciano and Johnny Torrio formed an alliance with Seigel and Lansky. Luciano, Torrio, Lansky and Seigel were a gang under Maranzano. They didn’t like Maranzano’s Sicilian ways m. Maranzano felt you could only be a made man if you were Sicilian. It was Luciano who broke down that barrier, bringing the Jews into the Mafia

Johnny Torrio was sent to Chicago to set up the Chicago Outfit. To work under Chicago mob boss Colesimo. Torrio then recruited Capone to Chicago to work for him. Torrio and Capone then hired Frankie Yale out of New York to take out Colesimo. Then began the famous Chicago Outfit which was an arm of Luciano. Capone then took over from Torrio. Capone then had Yale killed cause Yale was hijacking Capones booze shipments to Chicago. Probably one of the most underrated mob bosses of all time Tony Accardo started out as Capones driver then eventually ran the Chicago Outfit for the next 6 decades, him and Aiuppa. It was Accardo and Aiuppa who had Spilotro killed, played by Pesci in Casino and Chicago Outfit Mob boss Sam Giancana. Most claim it was Spilotro who killed Giancana under orders from Accardo and Aiuppa. The Chicago Outfit oversaw Vegas in cahoots with the five families.

If you can handle the grotesque you can see photos of all these famous hits on Anastasia, Maranzano, Masseria, Yale, Spilotro.

The Chin Gigante was the greatest mobster of the modern era running the Genovese family through the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s. A deranged genius

Gigante masterminded the famous attempt to take out John Gotti in revenge for Gotti taking out Paul Castellano who took over the Gambino crime family after Carlo died

1. Luciano
2. Gambino
3. Accardo
4. Gigante
5. Capone

Seigel and Lansky were never mob bosses of the five families and the Chicago Outfit. But they would definitely rank in the top 5 as top mob “figures” of all time. Young Luciano, Lanskey, Seigel, Capone, Vito Genovese, Carlo Gambino, Torrio was the greatest era in mob history when they took over from Maranzano and Masseria. There were others in there too at that time - Costello, Lucchese, Profaci, Anastasia. Costello had a short stint running the Luciano family after Lucky retired, but Genovese had Gigante make a hit on him, shot him in the head but survived, but Costello read the writing on the wall and stepped aside giving way to Vito Genovese forming the Genovese Crime Family. Vito then groomed the Chin Gigante to take over. The Genovese Crime Family is the oldest most powerful mafia in the USA to this day, not the Gambino Crime Family. The very first mafia was the Morello crime family in the late 1800’s which became the Maranzano, then Luciano and now Genovese

One of the real nut job bad asses mob bosses of all time was Raymond Patriarca of the Patriarca Crime Family in Boston. Him and Whitey Bulger shared the Boston underworld

What’s amazing to me was how well organized the mafia was nationally, in each city. They all worked with each other but killed each other at the same time. It all leads back to five families of new York which is a Genovese, Gambino, Bonnano, Lucchese, Colombo. The movie Goodfellas, Henry Hill was an associate of the Lucchese Family, so that movie was essentially about the Lucchese Family. Hill was never a made man as he was Sicilian on his Moms side, Irish on his Dads. The Movie Donnie Brasco was essentially about the Bonano Crime Famiky. The true life character Ruggiero played by Pacino was a hit man for the Bonanno crime Family. The movie Casino was about members of the Chicago Outfit. Spilotro was sent to manage Rosenthal (De Niros character). Soikotro’s boss was Accardo and Aiuppa. Accardo had Spilotro and his brother beaten to death. The movie is pretty accurate

Two of the most sadistic, deranged, insane mobsters are probably Sam DeStefano of the Chicago Outfit and Joe Gallo of the Colombo family. Both were deemed borderline schizophrenics, both are interesting reads. It’s claimed that Spilotro assassinated DeStefano on orders from Accardo, shooting his arm off in the process and five monsters shot and killed Gallo in a restaurant in front of his family. The five recruited to kill Gallo were members of the Colombo, Gambino and Patriarca Family

The Gambino family evolved from the Mangano Crime Family. One of the original five families formed when Luciano took over Maranzano becoming the boss of the bosses. Anastasia with his close ties with Lucky and member of Seigel and Lanskeys Murder Inc killed Mangano then took over, then later on young Carlo Gambino had Anastasia killed, then the name change from Mangano Crime Family to Gambino Crime family happened.

Luciano was the real clever mastermind behind it all really, him and Lanskey. Every major famous hit and leadership takeover all roots back to Lucky. Lansky was powerful because ran the finances. It was said that Lansky made the final order to have Seigel killed at the pressure of the five families and the Chicago outfit. Seigel was suspected of skimming money during construction of the flamingo. Basically you couldn’t even trust your best friend. Nothing but back stabbing thugs in the end

It’s endless great reading material the history of the American Mafia. Quite a sadistic bunch of people to be honest.

Bugsy Siegel helped develop Las Vegas. Hargraves is a big fan of Vegas.
