Nah, you can easily avoid the taxes by switching to an electric car.The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 8:18 amObviously the only way to save us is to tax the living fuck out of us all.Topper wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 7:42 am Is it bad for earth?

The road tax on our old volvo V50 was like USD 300 per annum, and for the much bigger mitsubishi outlander phev it's 35!
Not to mention that we pay roughly USD 2 for the electricity needed to drive 100 kms, but USD 15 for gas for the same distance.
As electrical vehicles start to become cheaper, no one in their right mind will buy a fossil fuel car.
And apart from taxation, etc, electric vehicles need less maintenance, as there are fewer moving parts.
No gears, no pistons, no timing belt, no ignition... no motor oil...
OK, so I still have a hybrid, which is probably the worst of worlds when it comes to maintenance, as my car has three engines instead of one, but once I switch to a pure EV, which I will when they start being able to go 600 kms without recharging....
