NFL Thread: Thoughts on the game south of the 49th

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

I don't watch the NFL anymore but whatever happened to Up With People? Pete Rozelle would never have allowed the debauchery that goes on at halftime today.

I'm so thankful that I didn't see it again :D

My 40 something year old American friends are raving about how great it was and all I can think of is the Dead Kennedys

I can't watch the video without wondering how many of those people ended up at Jonestown.

That's very good analysis actually Corn. I've watched films about this organization and ex members report it having been very cultish and abusive. In performance they resemble Osmond clone-like automatons. Watching their act is kind of like having your senses mugged by a certain US based religious sect that dresses like the FBI, if you know what I mean...

Nice haul.

Lock, Fant (could be a legit, top tier TE moving forward), Shelby Harris, 2 firsts, 2 seconds and a 5th for Wilson and a 4th.

Hell I 'd trade JT Miller for that.

Hell of a career for RW. Haters gonna hate. The giant Drew Brees is a whole inch taller and takes zero grief about his height. Only Peyton Manning threw for more TD’s in his first ten years. If not for a retarded call by Pete Carroll he’d have two rings.

That said it was time to move on for both sides. Good haul by Seattle but Lock is no more than a stopgap. Gotta go out an get another top QB in the next year or two.

Yep, Lock is a bridge for sure and a QB will be what one of the firsts is used for presumably.

The Broncos (Elway) have no fear in making big moves it seems. They still might be the 3rd best team in the division though.

Their skill position group is, however, very, very good moving forward.

The AFC West will be an interesting watch next season.

No doubt. Even if the football players can’t skate, teach them to and point them at the opponents and say “hit them”….

I like the TE, solid player. Same with the defensive end- came up with the Raiders. Both solid players. Two picks are good but the Seahawks are eating a lot of money. I think they get 11 million freed up. Hard to know with the NFL’s convoluted cap system. I guess they can free up more money letting Bobby Wagner go but he’s a leader and there’s another hole.

Pete C should be shot out of a cannon.

Hawks net out pretty even (800K or so to the good) with the salaries coming back from what I can see.

Huge dead cap hit of 26 mill for Wilson this year.

Next year is where they win out with 27 mill back in their pocket for not having Russ around so they can play with their upcoming season numbers with that in mind.

It's rebuild time anyway so Wagner, as great as he is, is not as necessary as he was.

Bobby should go win another Super Bowl somewhere and cement his first ballot HoF status.

EDIT:

....and now I see an announcement that Wagner is to be officially released.

16 mill and change saved on the cap.

Really curious to see how the Broncos do with Wilson.

Rams are loaded up for another Superbowl run.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

I'm interested to see what happens to Watson.

The AFC West is gonna be a battle.
