NFL Thread: Thoughts on the game south of the 49th

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

I knew the Seahawks were that bad. Hugely over rated.

Gave up 10 points on DangeRunt interceptions, lost by 7.

Shows how skewed the stats were beating up on the injured and the incompetent down the stretch. I can’t believe how many fans were fooled by those games.

I watched the 1st half of the Cardinals/Packers yesterday before taking the kid to 3D Star Wars…..got up early this morning and thought of checking the score instead of watching the 2nd half. Glad I watched it. WOW, what a finish.

Good-bye Lynch, Irvin, possibly Chandler…….hopefully Bevell and Schneider. How many 1st round draft picks do you trade away for useless over rated receivers while failing to address the O-line. Let alone making a mediocre QB the second highest paid player in the game.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Cardinals/Packers game was a classic.

Panthers proving why they went 15-1 this season, even though they had almost had a complete collapse in the 2nd half vs the Seahawks.

I haven't watched them too much this year so I'll take your word for it. Still, seems like there should have been more championships in the Pete Carroll era. Ahem, <cough>last year<cough>.

What a bunch of receivers! Jeez, you'd think teams would figure this out and set up properly to win these jump balls when they have the advantage?

Wonder if it would have been that close if Palmer didn't have to throw with a busted finger?

I hate Newton. I think he's a fukin' clown, but you gotta give him and the Panthers credit for their incredible season.

But if anyone said they expected a season like this, they're outright lying.

Seahawk's O-line lost that one for them. The 2nd INT Wilson threw was the result of pressure contacting him as he was throwing. They didn't do their jobs at all in the first quarter and were pretty well below average until the 2nd half.

Wilson is overrated, but not as badly as Topper makes him out to be. I still think he's one of the best at creating something out of absolutely nothing. (see bad snap last week and scrambling throw off his back foot for the TD this week).

Pete made a couple of bad calls. Opting to try on 4th and 5 on the Panther's 18 instead of taking the field goal was terrible. That turnover on downs gave the Panthers decent field position and cost 3 points. Had they kicked it and pinned the Panthers deep on the ensuing kick-off they would possibly have had better field position on their next possession and not have had to force a 55 yard attempt that ultimately failed. Even throwing up a prayer for the late strike would have been smarter than that 55 yard attempt. But hey, if that fails then he's in the Benning boat.....damned if you do, damned if you don't.

The 2nd half showed why Seattle is NOT as overrated as some here say. You could see Cam Newton on the sidelines getting nervous as Seattle marched back on the scoreboard and his stupid grin started to fade.

Definitely going to be some turnover there though. I can see Carroll coming back, but that O line has to be fixed.

I knew they weren't pulling this out though because they burned their next 5 years worth of horseshoes on Walsh's kick last week.

Put a brown one on the Panthers. Manning sucks now, it's Denver's defense you gotta worry about.
