The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Gigi's on Broadway was my Van face but some assturd decided to erect fucking condos instead.
Gigis had decent gut bomb pizza for sure, I remember that place....
There was a decent little downstairs French restaurant down the road from Gigi's, Papillote I believe it was called.
As I recall the owner also was in charge of Rain City Grill on Denman.
C as well I think.
Until it all fell apart...
Something about whitener is what I heard tell of...allegedly.
Topper?
Harry Kambolis, owner of Rain City and C, was a great guy. Met him a few times. He sold out to a larger group, not sure why. My instructor/mentor and good friend Soren Fakstorp was hired away from Seasons in the Park to be exec Chef at C before it opened. Unfortunately he had a heart attack about the time C opened and after his recovery, became an instructor. Harry's loss, my gain. Said the best thing he ever did was hire Rob Clark to be his sous chef at C. Rob, another great guy, became exec chef for both Rain City and C. Soren always had good things to say about Kambolis. Sadly, Soren succumbed to cancer several years ago.
Octopus bacon was one of Soren's dishes that became signature for C.

Did you ever dine at Star Anise after Bishop opened it Topper?
Have we gone down that road previously?
Those days I was going in the back door with the help, not the front door with the clientele.
Was Star Anise just off Granville near Vij's? I think the head instructor at school had been chef there. Hyperactive Brit, creative ideas, but never saw him in the kitchen at school.
