Summer Movies...what are you gonna see?

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I guess when I go into these things I anticipate a "step your game up" scenario.

I suppose I wanted it to be better than say, Iron Man.

I didn't find it to be so.

I mean I realize it isn't The Godfather or Citizen Kane we're talking about here.

I thought it took a long time to get to where it was going.

= Worldwide: $1,186,653,451

It's gotta be a good movie. It's crushing all others...All time... crushing! It did twice what Battleship did in it opening weekend. Battleship's opening was 25 million plus, shit compared to the Avengers, but not a bad opening weekend.

That's a fuck load of money! The budget for the flick was 220 million... They're going to make a billion off this movie.

Yep. Pretty sure I'll be in the minority.

Didn't hate it but, meh, didn't love it either.

Everytime Samuel Jackson talked I thought of Pulp Fiction.

Whatever.

Enjoy it.

(I even had a big bag of popcorn dripping with fake butter AND a bag of sour sugar things...)

Meh...

Tough to say what I'll think. I have a soft spot for the Dark Knight Returns so I may walk out thinking the same thing...

Meh...

Although I will be high so that adds at least one of five stars automatically. Image

It's kind of nuts to see that type of move do 55mill in it's 3rd week....

Still I can't go to many movies so I probably wont bother with Avengers.

Perhaps it's a moot point but after seeing both Thor and Captain America solo movies, I just don't see the point of teaming them up. I mean one guy is basically an indestructible god, and the other is just a really strong dude who needs a shield to avoid being killed by normal bullets.

Whats the point (smile)?

It's kind of like teaming Batman and Superman. One has a cool car and a utility belt, and the other can reverse the earths rotation just by flying around it really fast...

It's a comic book movie. Did people think it was going to be really cerebral?

Thanks for the laugh EPC

Always walking to the beat of your own drum, eh Donnie?

Yeah I was in the majority and liked it quite a bit, but then again, I am sucker for these movies, even the bad ones. Although I don't think I'll pay that much money for the bad ones, I'd just wait for them to hit the movie channel.

A side topic on movies:

Have any of you tried the VIP Theatres and Lounge at Coquitlam yet? I think I will always watch movies like that from now on. No little kids, seat service and the seats are comfortable as hell. It's $7 more than the regular movie price, but it's worth it IMO
