Muzac For Munsters

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

^that Neil LeVang instrumental version on the guitar with that big choir on the Lawrence Welk Show is awesome Micky.

Makes me really want holler out 'yaw!' and 'haw!' and 'git up there!' to the imaginary doggies in the sky.

:D

Every time I hear that I think of old Pat Gerow and his lovely wife Clover (singer).

My dad was best friends (for decades) with them in Vancouver.

Pat played... some kind of Hawaiian instrument... while they sang that song together one night.

I can still hear it... oh fuck were they good!

The Gerows had some kind of connection with the Sons.

They may have performed with them here or there.

I know Pat (steel guitar) performed with Hank Snow for a while.

He was in many groups over the years, the main one being The Rhythm Pals.

They're long gone now, but I'll always remember them, two of the warmest people I've ever met.

The Rhythm Pals were fixtures on Don Messer's Jubilee as I'm sure everyone remembers. Never missed an episode after the Saturday night hockey game (or was it before the game?) :D

There's Pat and Clover.

Pat was a gentle giant, but he almost killed a guy once with his bare hands when the fool accosted Clover (also known as Evelyn).

Damn did he love that woman...

A rare, hard to find selection from former newsman Hugh Downs' astonishing foray into folk music.

Sadly, meager record sales precluded any thought of a follow up recording date :(
