TV Shows: What are you watching?

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Chef's Table - lots of artsy farty pompous gits, but also some truely inspiring food.

Formula 1 - good behind the scenes look at the sport and F1 press conferences are fucking great. Petey death stare comes to mind.

The Windsor's - predictable take on the royal welfare bums, but some smart writing and acting.

The "documentary" is on amazon prime if anyone wants to check it out. I highly recommend viewing it with your 3rd eye wedged wide open lol. Sober it'll sound a little retarded.

Here is a funny as fuck analysis from someone who obviously watched it sober:

Bosch on Amazon Prime was a decent detective series.
Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime was also a good series.
The Queen's Gambit on Netflix. I didn't think a series about a girl playing chess would be any good, but it was actually decent.
Goliath on Amazon Prime was also pretty good.

Agree with all of these - but the 2nd season of Jack Ryan went over the top and had a ridiculous ending (imo).

I heard "Barbarians" was good - in Canada it's sub-titled, but down south it's poorly dubbed and unwatchable.

Yeah I forgot about Fargo - part of it was filmed in the town closest to where I live. In season 1, there is a Leroy's motel - which is in Strathmore. I actually stayed there for a couple of weeks until our house out in the country was finished. It's not called Leroy's anymore - it's now Motel 1.

The Bureau, French TV-series kind of reminiscent of Homeland. Not sure if you get that in Canadia?

Casa de Papel, which I think is called Money Heist in English (Netflix).

The Queen's Gambit (Netflix) - finally a TV series about chess! 8-)

HBO has a new hockey based Swedish TV series called Björnstad (or Beartown in English).
Haven't watched it yet, it has mixed reviews, should be released in North America in 2021.

What I like though is that all the people cast as hockey players in the show had to be active hockey players, and that as it takes place in a fictive town in northern Sweden, all of them also had to have northern dialects.

"Uppity" - Willy T. Ribbs, first black man to race in the Indy 500.

If you'd like to educate yourself about the black struggle while hearing a great story.
