TV Shows: What are you watching?

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Watched the Netflix Documentary on Tim Donaghy, NBA ref who was busted for gambling. It is set "as told by Tim Donaghy" with Tim and his co conspirators plugging that there was a much grander conspiracy involving the NBA and David Stern's promotion of the game. There is a lot of discussion of Ref's calling games based on person rapport with coaches and players.

Ref's were instructed by the league to let fouls by stars go and to push playoff series to seven games. These were done to grow the game and generate revenue. People paid money to see the star players, not the league journeymen. Long playoff series generated more excitement and publicity as well as more money for owners.

Bettman was #3 in the NBA management during those years.

Reminded me of a discussion a few month back.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I don't watch many of these series Dude, but I'll keep some of your recommendations in mind.

Andor is very good and shows how the Empire was operating before Luke came along.

I barely made it through one episode of White Lotus.

Murders in the Building is great - Martin and Short playing to their strengths. :)

Old Man was good, the Sinner was ok

A couple of lighthearted comedies on Netflix - Man vs Bee - Murderville

I thought Wednesday was quite OK. Used to love the Addams Family when I was a kid, and I thought they managed to make her kooky enough.
Bit surprised by their choice for Gomez, but looking at the old cartoons, he's probably the best fit of all the Gomezes we've seen, yet I grew up with the TV series, so to me it felt a bit weird. It also feels weird that Wednesday is older than Pugsley. In the television series he was older than her.

I didn't mind it though, and would watch a second season if they make one.

Two-part bio of George Carlin on Crave was enjoyable. The guy has quite a life story.
