Big weekend for a sports fan

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Big weekend for a sports fan

Post by Bartman »

What to watch? Tonight we've got one of the most anticipated Canuck's games of the year as our boys face off against Sid the kid for the first time in Vancouver. Tomorrow afternoon the Unbeaten Pat's face a tough Stealers team after looking more than beatable in their last few games. Plus, if you pay for the view or hit a pub there is one heck of a fight between the unbeaten Hatton and the unbeaten Mayweather this evening as well!

So will I be in front of the flat screen on the sofa or on a stool at the pub? The answer is neither. My sorry butt has to work this evening and tomorrow as well!. (thank god for the PVR)

I guess the question for you all is: Where will you be catching the action?

It's kinda funny. I bumped into Linden last night at a function and he mentioned that even he - grizzled veteran that he is - is looking forward like a dumb giggling schoolgirl to playing against Sid the Kid tonight.

Honestly, I haven't seen or heard this much buzz about a single player coming to town to play a single game since back when I lived in Boston and New York in the 80s and Gretzky would come to town once a year to play.

This guy is a great ambassador and salesman for the sport.

Where will I be watching the game from?

From the doghouse . . . . after Mrs. Meerschaum accidentally uncovered the whole Latvian porn stars, bikers and drunken Vietnamese trade officials scene I had going on in an after hours club last night.

Let me tell you, there should be a constitutional amendment banning wives' girlfriends from using those damned cell phone cameras.

This is gonna cost me a fortune . . .
