The fancy cocktail thread

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

No, I'm not a rum guy at all. I've always just had crppy cheap Bacardi White at not so fine establishments.

Guess I'm looking for something different to try. All the recommendations have piqued my interest into rum. But looking maybe trying a dark rum, not spiced though.

Very interesting history about how Cuba Libres came to be. Yeah, appropriate but looking to CARLos Libre from shitty rums.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

My two cents on dark rum is it tends to overpower the cocktail with the rum's funkiness.

There's nothing wrong with that, it just gives it more of a rum/boozy taste IMO.

If youre mixing cocktails, I find you get much more depth if you use a spiced rum.

Like Humphrey Bogart at the bar in Casablanca

Does Reefer also wear Humphrey's hockey puck platform shoes so his Ingrid (Mrs reefer) doesn't look down on him?
