....read all the books as well Hank. Enjoyed them a lot.
One thing I liked about Connery is he had that go fuck yourself, imperialistic, jaded, I'm superior to all of you edge to him.
Kind of like many of us in fact....
While I did not dislike him by any means I did find Moore to be a "sweeter more sensitive" Bond.
Imesho....

I didn't find Moore "believable" in the role.....and the writing seemed to become almost to satirical, at least in the film adaptations.donlever wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 12:12 pm ....read all the books as well Hank. Enjoyed them a lot.

Re: Movie Thread
Yeah...I can understand that viewpoint....I still enjoyed his Bond movies..
Since we've ransacked Micks thread talking about gash Bond women are a solid subject as well.
And since we're on Moore right now Jane Seymour in Live and Let Die...

...and since you mentioned Brosnan whenever I see that guy all I can think of is Remington Steele.

Re: Movie Thread
Bond fans had trouble adjusting to a cheesy, 70's, soft-serve version of their hero. By the end of his run, Moore's Bond just got stupid and silly.
The reason I never really got into Brosnan was because we already saw Roger Moore's version and PB was a lesser rehash of that. Goldeneye was decent, but that was it.

Re: Movie Thread
Yeah. That's what one of my folks said.....I never watched that.
Historical perspective is everything.
Oh.....and yes. Jane Seymore.....can't believe she was also Dr. Quinn.
Re: Movie Thread
Ouch....
Historical perspective.
Starring in Steele with PB was Stephanie Zimbalist, whose father Efrem, is recognized for two well known older TV Series 77 Sunset Strip and The FBI....

Lol. It wasn't meant as a jab. My own perspective is skewed similarly based upon which one I watched first.
Ask me who the greatest cowboy of all time was and I'll say John Wayne because I watched him before I watched anyone else.

Also speaking of PB, who was the better Thomas Crown?
