Movie Thread

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

I hadn't seen the Lynch version in a LONG time, so we watched it right after. Very, very similar story to start with, and the effects are a flashback to the 80's. The Lynch version is worth watching, though - but dated. I would have the say the new one is more watchable.

I attended a movie for the first time in about ten years recently. Saw that Sopranos prequel The Last Saints of Newark. It was horrible.

Bad enough that I don't think I'll be watching any more movies. At least none made in Hollywood.

Good to hear- I saw WAY too many '10' reviews, but it looks worth the $5.

I saw Pig on Saturday night... he popped in two, then got his Michigan slapped away in disgust by the Captain. Get that garbage outta here!

Then he oinked back into his pen to a chorus boos.

Watched the original Highlander last night for shits and giggles.

Nothings changed.

At best an average movie, average acting (Christopher Lambert?), below average script, menial special effects (all things considered).

Except.

Clancy Brown (Captain of the guard in Shawshank, Penns archenemy in Bad Boys, among other things) stole the show as The Kurgan.

His scenes in the Church ("I've got something to say, it's better to burn out than to fade away!") and in the car chase thereafter were the highlight of the movie.

I'd forgotten how well he played the role.
