Ted Simonett

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Ted Simonett

Post by Megaterio Llamas »

I've been thinking everyone's favorite tv character The Canadian Tire Guy has been mothballed for long enough and it's time to bring him back. But how? What would be the perfect vehicle to kick start this iconic piece of Canadiana? I used to think giving him a slot on the sitcom Corner Gas as a reclusive Ted Simonett himself looking to avoid the spotlight created by his character in small town Saskatchewan could have been a potential laugh gold mine but I guess they cancelled the series.

So what does everyone here think?

I have to be honest, I got a little teary eyed listening to this. I had been thinking of that damnable Macleans article recently, that one really ended it for Ted.

You mean, 'as a comic, in all seriousness'? That Bobby Bittman?

I didn't realize he was no longer with us Rats19.

Like Strangelove said Rats19, you should be able to watch it on youtube by clicking that link. As long as you're in Canada that is.

Finding the great Ted Simonett's work online is harder than you might think, there's is very little out there. Perhaps it's all been snatched up by collectors ;)
