I saw our Alberian friend poked his head in the other day.
Hey Per, yes, probably not entirely preventable, but the US was, and largely still is, dragging its feet which led to the current situation. They probably have not flattened the curve at all, nor stockpiled masks and ventilators (which reasonably should have begun in late-January) for the healthcare industry to deal with peak demand.Per wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 11:35 pmNot sure if it would have been entirely preventable, because this thing has exploded rather rapidly.5thhorseman wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 10:45 pmYeah whatever. How much lead time has Trump had on this? And why is NY less than a week away from letting people die?Strangelove wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:14 pm
Although the Great Strangelove does frown upon one aggrandising oneself...

Mayor Bill de Blasio told CNN on Monday that, as a result, New York City hospitals will make it only through the week before they start reaching "a point where people can't be saved" because of equipment shortages.
Sounds preventable?
C'mon man, that's comedy gold!
Frighteningly, while some were stocking up on toilet paper, they were stocking up on printers ink.
Yeah he lives in the same area as the Blackmore's. I know who he is, I don't know him well. We went to the same high school (a loooong time ago), although he's a few years older than me (and I'm retired).Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 12:53 pmI like Listercat. Doesn’t post enough kinda like UW. A few more posts from these guys and yourself means less of reading Pacific Blue’s drunken rants or Gomer’s links etc.BCExpat wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 12:10 pmListercat is the only person on these boards that I actually know.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 4:07 pm As an asside where is ukcanuck? So you actually know Listercat?
Is it true he was pretty involved with the Blackmore’s of Bountiful? I picture him to be an elderly fella with good manners and he goes hunting with a musket and a stick with a rag attached to it

Yeah lots of pots and pans rattling at 7 out here in Horseshoe Bay too.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 7:06 pm The 7pm cheer for health care workers is really taking off, pretty loud all the way up here in Lynn Valley. Health Care workers around the world are on the front lines for us right now, no different than soldiers at war. They are putting themselves at risk to help people they don’t know from Adam. Damn right tonight’s 7pm shift change cheer brought a tear to my eye. I’ll be denting pots and pans tomorrow night and the night after as well. Y’all should do the same. The health care workers and first responders are #1. In in the Transportation industry and we are trying to get our products to market. Not looking for a hug here but the truckers are doing their part here.
