The War on Canada

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

I want to see cheaper dairy products as long as it is the same quality or better.

Love good cheese but $5 for a few bites is excessive.

While I'm a great fan of free trade, one of the few businesses where you can legitimately claim national security reasons for subsidies and protective measures would be farming. In case of war or famine, being completetly dependent on imports could be considered too much of a risk. Thus most countries try to keep their farmers happy, in order to be able to maintain food production within their borders.

Also:
Canadian farmers point out that despite the tariffs that protect them, imports make up 10% of the country’s dairy consumption. By contrast, the US restricts dairy imports to 3% of domestic consumption. “That just screams hypocrisy to me,” Muirhead said.

Uncle dans leg wrote: Tue Jun 12, 2018 2:18 pm I want cheap chesse ffs! We pay waaaaaaay more than anywhere else in this world for fuckin cheese. Why???

Every summer the inlaws bring me a suitcase full of hushålls cheese from sweden. Its comes in 2 kg wheels of something similar to edam cheese and costs about $8 bucks a kg. Here that costs at least double.

When i lived in Australia we also got huge bricks of awesome sharp cheddar for under 8 bucks a kg.

If trudumb can fuck up enough so cheese gets cheaper combined with corner stores full of grass I'll be happy with this era in canadian political history
Lol! Our dog refuses to eat hushållsost.

He loves parmesan, gran padano, västerbotten, brie, cheddar, etc, but give him a slice of hushållsost and he'll just give you a blank stare.
"What's this? Do you expect me to eat THAT?!"

A bit too bland imho to put on bread, but it works in cooking.
Kind of like mozzarella. Also very bland, but tastes great on eg pizza, once you have added all the other stuff.

Brännvin ost is another they bring me. Its sharp and better flavour but takes too long to melt lol

The hushållsost goes really well on bagels. It melts easy which works for breakfast....more like havarti than mozza IMO

Now....lets dismantle the fucking marketing boards so i can have access to affordable cheese!

Brännvinsost is better. That's actually close in taste to Västerbotten, but Västerbotten is the true king of cheese.
Did you ever have that?

The Brits seem to like it, just check the reviews: https://www.ocado.com/webshop/product/V ... e/78281011

Or he is a mastermind doing so much that no one can keep track of everything. US would not need such a big navy if they didn’t stick their nose into everyone’s business all the time.
Canada brought this on itself with all our marketing board co-op quota farming bullshit....
Our dairy is peanuts to them

Happy Canada Day, eh?

It's reassuring to know that a great chunk of North America remains sane.

So, basically, what you're saying, well educated, smart, successful, and with no ties to the mob or foreign dictators, right?

Ah, for the days of yore! :|

No, and I am not your strawman.

The Democrats have so much laughable Chicago mojo.

What is the murder rate there?

Not as bad as St Louis, Baltimore, Detroit, New Orleans, Birmingham, Jackson, Baton Rouge, Hartford, Milwaukee, Washington, DC, Kansas City, Savanah, Cincinnati, West Palm Beach, Memphis, Oakland, San Bernardino, Compton, Atlanta, Richmond, Pittsburgh, Dayton, or Philly.

Well, it is in the US of A, so way higher than in Canada or Sweden.
They really need to start restricting access to guns.
