I'm not sure. The quick dive I did said that they are often more expensive than traditional mortgages. Instead of interest the lender purchases the house and then re-sells it to the jihadist for a mark-up that is often more than what one would pay with a traditional mortgage. It's just not worded as interest to satisfy their sacred scrolls.

It is good humour along with good policy and the irony is that to regulate, they will have to compare the added cost to the cost of market interest rates to determine if the amounts are usury.

Yeah, not referring to people on this board. It's more of the posters on X who are calling this pandering to Muslims. It's no more pandering then giving the disabled wheelchair access.

And yes, ironic. They end up with payments more usurious than what their laws direct them to avoid. Letter of the law vs spirit of the law. The devolution of religion.

Links are starting to form between GC Strategies and Christia Freeland's office. The connection appears to be under RCMP investgation and is now the convenient, though legitimate excuse for no one talking.

Well seasoned old time reporter runs a story that Dominic Le Blanc is starting to campaign to replace Trudeau as Liberal leader. Some pundits are even putting the source for the story close to Trudeau as this may be his chosen one.

More and more stories of Trudeau resigning after this session of the house or over the summer break if the budget doesn't give the Liberals the much needed boost they crave.
