Sepp Blatter

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Sepp Blatter

Post by Topper »

Caved

Re-elected amid the corruption and bribery scandal and then loudly and defiantly dismisses the US lead court actions as sour grapes over the US and Britain not being awarded World Cups.

Days later he resigns.

Obviously the Sponsors got to him with their cash. I can see the likes of Coke, Visa, Carlsberg, Hyundai and Adidas waiting out the FIFA election even after a few foreboding warning shots prior to the vote. However, when Sepp got up and turned a blind eye to the scandal as if it was not and issue he bit the hand that feeds.

Stick that in your No Logo pipe and suck on it.

Sepp Blatter 'under investigation in US'. Good thing he resigned just in time to save FIFA's spotless reputation.

Football's most senior administrator attracted the wrath of the women's game last night by suggesting female players wear tighter shorts to promote "a more female aesthetic".

Sepp Blatter, the president of the world governing body Fifa, said women should have skimpier kit to increase the popularity of the game. "Let the women play in more feminine clothes like they do in volleyball," he said.
Y'gotta admit...

Women's tennis does this, unquestionably. Mind you Eugenie Bouchard is notably hotter than Christine Sinclair.

What does that mean: "women's tennis does this"? The truth is that dress codes are set by the venue. E.g. Wimbledon dress code is merely that it must be "predominantly white". No, the real reason that women wear what they do is to increase their endorsement contracts.

From what I've seen, tighter kit may bite into the WNBA slice of the women's sports fan slice of the pie.
