Israeli–Palestinian conflict

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! Palestinians claim victory as Gaza truce faces early test.
GAZA CITY, GAZA STRIP -- Palestinians rallied by the thousands early Friday after a ceasefire took effect in the latest Gaza war, with many viewing it as costly but clear victory for the Islamic militant group Hamas over a far more powerful Israel.

The 11-day war left more than 200 dead -- the vast majority Palestinians -- and brought widespread devastation to the already impoverished Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip. But the rocket barrages that brought life to a standstill in much of Israel were seen by many Palestinians as a bold response to perceived Israeli abuses in Jerusalem, the emotional heart of the conflict.

Miserable cunts not withstanding waking up alive is cause for celebration is it not?

Yet, DNA studies show that Palestinians are roughly of 90% Jewish heritage. They were the ones who stayed put while the others fled. They just switched language and religion to accomodate the new rulers.

So if they are anti-semites it must be a case of self hate.

here you go, SKYO. I believe the state of Israel has the right to exist. That said, despite the poor control the Palestinians have over the terrorists in Gaza, the Israelis shouldn't be bombing Gaza.

Polish media seems to think that Hamas attack on Israel was masterminded by Russia. :o
“The timing and reasons for the Hamas attack are linked to Russian and Iranian interests. Hamas is known to be strongly supported by both countries. Hamas leaders have twice held consultations in Moscow in the last 12 months and it is quite obvious that Russia has a wider interest in both distracting attention from Ukraine and, on the other hand, complicating Israel's rapprochement with Saudi Arabia by creating tension in the region,”

Sergej Sumlenny, a German expert on Eastern Europe and TVP World’s frequent guest, who grew up in Russia and worked in Ukraine as the director of the Heinrich Böll Foundation, believes that Russia is clearly behind the Saturday attacks by Hamas on Israel. “Russia is clearly behind this. No ally of HAMAS except of Russia has experience of using bomb-dropping drones against modern battle tanks,” he wrote in a post on his social media.

Then again, for historic reason, the Poles tend to have a deep rooted hatred against Russia, so this may influence how they view this.
And one of the sources is Estonian; again - for historic reason Estonians tend to have a deep rooted hatred against Russia, so this may influence how they view this.
