I found this unlikely story of an English businessman who became a Russian farmer quite interesting, and uplifting.

With all of the depressing news and sludge I'm inundated with everywhere I look these days this came along at just the right time.

Powerful: Protesters Spell Out 'Love' With Burning Homes And Businesses

Image

MINNEAPOLIS, MN—In a powerful display of their care for love and justice, protesters in Minneapolis burned the word "LOVE" into the city, arranging the inspiring message with homes and businesses set ablaze by their riots.

Heartfelt and moving.

"We just really wanted to show how much we care about love and social justice by burning this community into a powerful reminder of what it's all about," said local protester Jake Hernandez, who had flown in from Portland for the event. "Now, when police and fire helicopters fly over to try to restore order, they'll be inspired by our message of love and harmony."

Upon seeing the heart-wrenching message of unity, police dropped their batons, ripped off their badges, donned bandanas, picked up bricks, and joined the protesters in their rioting and looting. "I don't know how I didn't see the light before," said former police officer, now Antifa chapter leader Bridget Morrison as she lobbed a Molotov cocktail into a minority-owned business. "I'm woke to the cause of love and harmony."

What a powerful message! The protesters were also planning to burn the word "SOCIAL JUSTICE" into predominantly black parts of town but have sadly run out of buildings to burn.

This kid will probably get rich from the book deals, don't you worry your purdy little head none Skyo!
Plea deals, out of court settlements and cash bail are just three of the things that are very wrong with the American justice system. :|

This kid illegally carried a gun, specifically went looking for trouble and then killed two people, attempting to kill even more...

They should throw the book at him.

They will - for some reason Doc's trolling on this one, or his hatred of protesters is getting to the point where he supports murder?

I heard he was resisting arrest, fighting cops, and tried to run to his car and shit... not sure if it’s true, but like Abe Lincoln once said:
“Don’t believe everything you read on the internet”
Haven't you seen the video? It's all over the place. :|

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_cont ... e=emb_logo

Yeah, sure, he seems to be resisting arrest, he is walking to his car, but to shoot him seven (sic!) times in the back, point blank, while you're tugging on his shirt seems a bit much imho. :|

There are three cops there, facing an unarmed man. They should find some better option to handling the situation than that.
As usual these days Per is not up to speed.

I miss the old Per! :(

UMMMMM. Y'know what other video is "all over the place" Per?

The one that shows Jacob Blake wrestling with those police officers in the dirt.

Yeah, that occurred just prior to the video clip you presented.

So yes he actually DID resist arrest.

And this cat isn't the wonderful family man you present him to be.

He's got a rap sheet as long as your arm!

We're talking felonies here and there was an active arrest warrant out for him.

For things such as assault with a weapon, domestic assault, and sexual assault.

He's a violent, dangerous individual and the cops knew that going in.

(police were called in because he was allegedly involved in yet another domestic dispute)

Then he allegedly pulls a knife (he's since admitted to this).

Seriously, what did he think would happen?

Maybe in Sweden when police say you're under arrest you are allowed to physically fight them and then pull a knife.

But on this side of the pond we're civilized folk for the most part. :drink:

1:40 mark is where Blake's criminal history is presented.

4:07 mark is where the EXTENDED video is presented (Blake wrestling with police).

But you really should watch the entire video to grasp what a farce this whole thing is.

This guy gets it.

Newsflash:

EVEN if you commit a crime, the police is not supposed to kill you. :o

The man in the video keeps saying it’s justified, but if a Swedish police shot someone point blank in the back seven times, he would definitely be fired and most likely going to jail.

Apparently it’s A-OK in the US of A though...

And yeah, Blake did not die, but the officer really did use lethal force on him. He was just lucky.

Yes, police on this side of the pond are trained to "shoot to kill"... or not shoot at all.

But I suppose a Swedish cop would've just shot Blake on the leg?

These cops... after Blake attacked/wrestled with them... did taser Blake twice.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/jacob-blak ... ots-fired/

For some reason the tasers had no effect on him.

Then the known violent felon grabs a knife and opens the driver-side of the vehicle he was trying to steal.

(this is why the 911 call was made)

If ever there was a guy just begging to be shot, it was Jacob Blake.

There was also the possibility Mr Domestic Violence was intending to abduct those 3 kids/use them as hostages.

He HAD to be shot at the point in time he was shot.

Cops Lives Matter. Kids Lives Matter.

Stop the bullshit Per, you're on the wrong side of history on this one and you know it.

Yeah. There was a case in Stockholm about a year ago, that people were upset about, but the police involved were cleared of wrong doing.

A 25 yo man with Down’s syndrom sneaked out of his parents house around 2 am with his favourite toy, a toy gun that looked just like a real gun. So, around 3 am a concerned person calls the cops saying there’s a man with a gun behaving suspiciously in the yard. The police check the address and notice that there’s a woman living in that high rise that has received death threats from her ex, who is a known violent criminal. They arrive at the scene expecting to find an armed and dangerous man. They split up and enter the yard from two directions.

So, they see a man lurking in the shadows. A police woman draws her gun and tells the man to drop his weapon. Instead he moves towards her with the gun visibly held in his hand. Her colleague deems the situation dangerous and fires, the police woman hears the shot and thinks she is fired at and also opens fire. The guy with Down’s syndrome is hit by three or four bullets and dies.

A lot of people have been upset with their action, but I really understand the reasoning of these police officers. They expected a cold blooded murderer on the scene. The man they encountered pointed his gun at them, disobeyed orders and approached one of them gun in hand. It was 3 am and fairly dark.

The one thing I think the police messed up was that the father of the guy had noticed that he was missing and contacted the police shortly before the shooting. The police at the scene had not been informed about this.

Had they known that a 25 yo Down’s syndrome guy was walking around in the neighbourhood and might be carrying a toy gun, they could have drawn other conclusions when encountering him. But they did not.

That was not their fault, but the fault of their superior officer who should have made sure they got that information.

Anyway, shooting someone who points a gun at you, or a colleague, after giving him fair warning, is one thing.
Shooting someone seven times point blank in the back is another. Even if he were attempting to pick up a knife, which has not really even been confirmed yet. Guess we will find out at the trial.
