NFL Thread: Thoughts on the game south of the 49th

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

So casual football viewer here but question for those more serious guys. Is Washington going to choose a new nickname or just stick with Football Team?

New name....reportedly next year.

There are some lame choices. Apparently this was the final 8 and 3 have been selected from the list for final review.

Red Hogs
Defenders
Armada
Presidents
Brigade
Commanders
Red Wolves
Washington Football Team

....no good football yesterday.

Watched the first half of all 3 games.

Saturday was fine.

Hopefully Rams Cardinals light it up tonight.

Was more referring to how the Cowboys game turned out!

Didn’t expect much of them this year?

I'm pretty much the same on the Cowboys as I am the Canucks at this stage in life.

Ambivalence personified.

Jerry Jones is a more than great businessman but a really shitty football guy.

Why his sons, especially Stephen, would be an improvement is beyond me. Shit teaches shit, well, pretty much shit.

It's nice for him his brand is worth 5 billion on an original 150 million investment but he keeps putting chickenshit on the field and calling it chicken salad.

Dak Prescott is Derek Carr at best.

Neither of them will ever win anything unless some Trent Dilfer like fluke materializes which in the Cowboys case is highly unlikely.

I just like (American) football man (NFL or NCAA).

Just want to see some good football.

Guess it's the equivalent of being a Canucks and Mariners fan!

Though I haven't followed the Mariners nearly as much since moving up here and being unable to catch a weekend set in the summer.

We had games on while doing stuff around the house this weekend, the mrs is from Sask so of course is a huge Riders fan. She commented this weekend that she could get into the NFL, they have fans as crazy as Rider fans.

I asked what team she would cheer for, went to colours of jerseys initially. Then quickly went to which ones had the lease skanky cheerleaders.

She's unsure who she will be a fan of!

You'd think someone would buy him a watch.

I'm not a fan of paying the massive salaries that QB's demand on second contracts wit much of it guaranteed money. Fill the spot with a guy on a rookie deal and let him go before the signing the second deal. One of the many reason's I think that brillo the brave red headed step child GM in Seattle should have been shit canned years ago.

This is not a Prescott issue.

This is an NFL issue

Market value for QB's is currently 40 million.

What Topper says is true.

Unless you have Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Pat Mahomes, Peyton Manning behind centre paying guys like Stafford, Goff, Carr, Prescott, Matt Ryan, Baker Mayfield market value is a good way to fuck up your cap structure and create a middle-of-the-road team who will only win a Championship in the aforementioned Trent Dilfer scenario.

Ditto Ezekiel Elliot.

Good backs are a dime a dozen.

If I were the Cowboy GM I would have shown Zeke the door before signing him to his last deal.

The team got zero real value out of it and he's a shell of what he was his first 3 or 4 years in the league....overall typical result for RB's really.

I have no issues. I just haven't been following NFL football enough in the last 15-20 years. Just shocked how much QBs are making these days... market value yes, but holy shit!

Peeps here are complaining about Tucker Poolman's contract, lawls. NHL is 1970's minor leagues compared to football.

If this is market value, Mahomes should be paid $50M+

Rodgers and Brady... absolute slave labor.

Who else is on this list?

I think Allen will prove himself worthy. Wilson is a proven commodity and has a ring. Watson, Goff, Wentz, Cousins, Ryan? Probably some instant regrets there by their respective organizations.
