I got a new name for Shane Wright and it’s not Alexis Lafrenierre. Instead of Shane Wright it’s Wayne Shite

Wtf...? :o

First they stop NHL players from participating in the Olympic tournament, then they cancel the World Juniors.

Looks like another shitty year.

Gomer playbook...

Blob - "You're not actually like the cowboy in your avatar"

Cuz - "You're exactly like the pothead in your old avatar"

Carl - "You're a girlie freak, like in your avatar"

Strangelove - "You have gout... and you are Peter Sellers... cuz avatar"

*repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat repeat*

No imagination you say?

Yeah well... in his minute mind... THIS is the effect:

Yeah he looked good even if it was a weak opponent. I was looking forward to watching this team through the holidays. It’s a shame they couldn’t find a way to play this tournament somehow.

Four positive tests eh. Better shut her down!

Canada and the IIHF really know to put on a show.

Thought Austria was going to be a good way for him to cut his teeth. Being 16 and at the WJC it’s gotta be intimidating. McDavid played 7 games and had 4 points!

He definitely needs to fill out and get stronger but you can see the skill. I think he’ll be a more completely player than Michkov.

Would’ve been great to see if he could’ve grown into a bigger role even in this tourney. Next year will be interesting to see in Russia!

The Michkov/Bedard showdown will have to wait another year. I’m assuming Adam Fantilli will make Team Canada next year, the kid is dominating the USHL

The bubble was a joke! On Wednesday night their was a freaking wedding reception ffs at the hotel where the Swedish players were housed. Last year the players’ hotels were totally sealed off and no other guests allowed. The coaches told the players to stay in their rooms and order room service rather than risking facing other guests.

And then, despite not taking proper precautions to protect the players, they decide to shut down the entire tournament after just four positive tests! Jeezus!

There is some discussion going on about trying to pick up again and play the remaining games in May, but I doubt they can pull that off.

It’s really weird… something about being August, I guess, but I’m not watching at all. I usually watch every Canada game and few of the other key match-ups.

So, elimination games start tomorrow. The quarter finals are:

Finland vs Germany
Sweden vs Latvia
Canada vs Switzerland
USA vs Czechia

I’m guessing semi finals will be USA vs Finland and Canada vs Sweden. :|
