The Swedes should have a good team.
Good enough for silver
Here's one suggestion by Aftonbladet:
Goalies:
Robin Lehner
Jacob Markström
(Linus Ullmark)
None of them as good as Lundquist at his peak, but competent NHL starters.
Defence:
Victor Hedman – Jonas Brodin
Oliver Ekman Larsson – John Klingberg
Mattias Ekholm – Erik Karlsson
(Hampus Lindholm, Rasmus Dahlin)
A question mark for Karlsson, who has been hampered by injuries the last few years, but was outstanding before that.
Likewise with Dahlin, who has yet to live up to the extremely hyped expectations.
Hedman at the helm feels solid. Two cups and five consecutive Norris nominations.
Other options would be Adam Larsson and/or Rasmus Andersson.
Forwards:
Filip Forsberg – Mika Zibanejad – Elias Pettersson
Gabriel Landeskog – Nicklas Bäckström – William Nylander
Elias Lindholm – William Karlsson – André Burakovsky
Viktor Arvidsson – Joel Eriksson Ek – Patric Hörnqvist
(Victor Olofsson, Mikael Backlund)
Pettersson has been moved to the wing to make room for more established centres.
Bäckström and Nylander played really well together when Sweden won the 2017 world championship, so it seems logical to have them reunited.
Eriksson Ek came in fourth in this years Selke vote.
Other options include Rakell, Silfverberg, Bratt, Fast, Sundqvist, etc...
