Another Benning fleecing
This was a good trade for both teams. Tampa got two high picks and the Canucks got a good player on a great contract. Just out of curiosity what are the other “fleecings” ?
JT Miller for mohammedoulin and a 3rd(hardly a high pick)
Podkolzin and Hoglander are going to add a nice and fitting element to this young core of the Canucks. I can’t wait. Hoglander plays like the Swedish Brad Marchand he could be that super pest we’ve so needed since well - Burrows, and Podkolzin is like a Swiss Army knife, he’s a multi-faceted player, very smart and dependable
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

Schmidt for a 3rd was the crime of the century
Pearson was a big win for Benning
3 counts as plural Blobster
If Benning had taken Pastrnak (who went at 25) instead of McCann at 24 then the Kesler trade would also have been a fleecing. That is honestly his worst draft ever. Jake at 6 too......what a terrible draft.
Considering that Boston took Pasta, I have to wonder if part of the agreement to let Benning depart as AGM in Beantown included him not taking a couple guys that Boston was high on. To me there's NO way that a bird dog scout like Elmer wasn't in on the players that Boston was keying on.

Elmer Soderblom > Quinton Byfield
Change my mind
202 cm, 104 kg, his second between the legs goal of this tournament.
He is going to have a great career in hockey.
An enraged Doyle will be by shortly to argue this point but the reality is that QB is a good not great prospect just like ES.
Theyre both big kids who go to the net. Either one will be good pro's one day but the Canadian kid will have all these unrealistic expectations placed on him that will be hard to live up to.
